What do you think about ?
Personally, I prefer to see this match more than GGG - Canelo.

Ggg already signed to fight him at 168 a couple years ago.

That's not the full story. Chavez Jr. was presented with two options by Bob Arum to face Golovkin: take a big purse and be compelled to extend his contract with Top Rank; or take a smaller purse and not be tied to Top Rank.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Chavez backed out and signed with Al.Cutman Scabbers wrote:SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Ggg already signed to fight him at 168 a couple years ago.

Chavez Jr agreed to the fight purse for the first option but didn't want to sign a contract extension with Top Rank. So he declined the bout and joined forces with Al Haymon.
A legal battle ensued with Top Rank claiming they were still owed one more fight with the highly-lucrative Chavez Jr., resulting in an out of court settlement.
Chavez Jr. not taking the Golovkin fight, was a decision based on his sour relationship with Top Rank rather than any perceived fear of fighting a man he used to regularly spar with.
