People who like Fury tend to focus on the result - he went away from home and did the job against an elite level, long term champion in an upset win. People who don't like Fury tend to focus on the performance, the lack of punches thrown, the very low amount landed, the lack of action.
Where the jealousy comes in is that Fury is obviously such a poorly regarded character that the reaction to the win seems overly harsh. Haye became a bit of a hero when he went away and scored a low-action, points result against Valuev, (clearly a weaker opponent than Wlad.) Fury does the same and becomes a laughing stock.
I can see both sides, but I don't think results are the be all and end all.

Hughie has still not been publically cleared by UKAD for the nandrolone positive test in Feb 2015tobyh5 wrote:Oh and on the Furys and drugs, Peter gave an interview a week or so back saying Hughie was putting on a pound per week and was leaner than he had ever been. Say what?! That is literally fecking impossible. No human being will put on a pound per week but be leaner than ever as that would mean it is muscle and that is physically not possible. And they are meant to be professionals?!
Re: Tyson Fury v Manual Charr
Warren on his last IFl interview said Fury has a UKAD hearing on May 8th.Naandrew wrote:He can't as they are all affiliated and under WADA rules. Peter said this in his last IFl interview a few weeks back.mimmy123 wrote:Naandrew wrote:FFs he still hasn't been charged or cleared of three anti doping violations people need to calm down about his comeback.
If not by bbboc it will be by some other body if Fury wishes to box on regardless of the doping.
He said Tyson was cleared of the doping charges and that the only thing outstanding was when he told testers to F*ck off and refused a drugs test.
However UKAD have NOT publicly cleared him of anything.
I said on another thread that if Peter was telling the truth then I reckon Tyson will be banned until September 2018.
A cyclist as part of the BBC investigation into doping in cycling got two years for refusing a test. If you refuse a test your refuse a test.
Not having a go it's just people are ignoring the facts out there and being unrealistic.
So only when the case file from that is uploaded to UKADs site should people start talking about him coming back.
Until the results of the charge are made public people are wasting their time talking about him coming back.

Good point re Haye - again people seem to have forgotton that this fight was again very close and could have gone either way..... in fact, I thought Valuev won.dirk2686 wrote:There are two ways of looking at the Fury Wlad fight. The key difference though I think are two fold.
1) The almost KD that Haye scored.... It was a case of David almost slaying Goliath - Fury didn't do that to the "chinny" Klitchsko.
2) Value, IMO wrongly, was perceived as being bad for boxing - a bad champion, a champion that shouldn't have got a decision vs Holyfield.... any win that knocked him out of the equation was perceived as a positive for the sport.... Not sure if the same can be said for Wlad, in fact it was rather sad to see father time catch up with a very good champion.
People thought that Haye was going to struggle against Valuev cos of the size factor.... but if (even if it is not legitimate) he wins then it lights up the heavyweight era and he will have more success against smaller heavyweights.

Re: Tyson Fury v Manual Charr
But that all falls apart when you consider Valuev, like you said, struggled with 46 year old Holyfield, who weighed in a few pounds less than Haye did.stujones wrote:Good point re Haye - again people seem to have forgotton that this fight was again very close and could have gone either way..... in fact, I thought Valuev won.dirk2686 wrote:There are two ways of looking at the Fury Wlad fight. I hate calling people any name if not in jest but honestly this twat gets you down. Sometimes I feel upset after reading things he writes and I do not think he has any idea that he might just hurt peoples feelings. Why would anyone just randomly call people idiots? Sometimes I hate Horse for just being a vile bully behind a keyboard.handsofstone wrote:Wee curveball with that last sentence there Mimmymimmy123 wrote:So you misfit you have only just established that after over 6000 posts ive made. I am against the "eye test", it is vastly overrated.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Watch Mason fight, you should try that more often when discussing boxers.
Fury has achieved far more than Mason ever did.
Mason does not deserve to be compared favourably to Fury.
