Can anyone show me any advert that is as cringeworthy featuring a famous sports star? I mean I have seen sports stars do like charity ads with starving children and I get what they are trying to do and respect the cause but WTF is this?? Holding his mums hand
Not cringeworthy but I remember it clearly from my youth
Got to cut Naz a bit of slack there, wasn't that during the build up for the Kevin Kelly fight in NYC?
Haha loving the Bruno one, never seen that before if I'm honest.
I don't know, maybe I need to cut AJ some slack, I understand he is a young man who is getting money thrown at him to do this sort of garbage, would I suck it up and take it myself , its easy for me to sit here and say no but who knows if I was in that position ( again I think deffo no way would I bollox )
I didn't find the adverts as cringe as most - most adverts are cringe. Mo Farah's are amongst the worst.
But I did find it weird that they had Joshua in the police station and running from 5-0, I've never seen that in a mainstream ad.
There is such a big narrative everywhere - yes Joshua did some silly things, but he turned his life around, he loves his mum, he is so humble, lives with his mum, is apparoachable and down to earth (even though he didn't acknowledge his son, left the baby mother in a studio flat etc.)
It gets pushed so much that it's nauseating - it makes me think that there is an even bigger skeleton in the closet and that this is all damage limitation in case it ever comes out

All this fuss about his "drug" conviction. He may as well have been selling a bit of baccy or knock off booze.
Maybe people want him to a complete bastard. Afterall, the heavyweight champ, as a minimum, should be able to slap anyone about right?
I think he's actually on the wind up half the time now with the humble chat. During the olympics Joyce and him were joking about having to remain humble etc, when being interviewed together

which is why I think the real story is somewhat different. He got remanded, which is only for serious offences. I would suggest he was involved in something more serious and possibly violent but it's being kept away from the press. And if it does come out, the last 5 years of humble narrative and a mummy' s boy, and a man who has 'turned his life around' will over shadow most negative stories.
There are rumors he was an enforcer for serious people and certainly it was more than moving a bit of weed. Money and influence can buy silence, max Clifford used to say the majority of his job was keeping bad stories out of the press rather than positive PR.

Rumours and hearsay. Get in touch with the Sun, they'll run such a foolproof story as a front cover sensation!

Everything is rumour and hearsay until beyond reasonable doubt. But he was definitely remanded and it's said the ABA exerted their influence to get him a pass.
