Fielding Is naturally bigger with some good performances behind him at domestic level.
Is Cox better than domestic level? Or has the Smith defeat damaged Fielding?

That's a good and fair comment mate, imo I think the smith defeat as damaged his confidence, just doesn't look the same fighter

I agree mate. I thought he was awful against ryder and hurt number of times. As long as jamie can take his power. I fancy cox to stop him early.

Surely inactivity will hurt cox? Also inexperience at the weight? He had not proven himself at domestic level at welter and Fielding is tried and tested at super middle. There are a lot of what ifs in this fight

Cox's temperament is key. He's got the beating of Fielding despite the height disadvantage, because he's a very good boxer as you can see from his amateur record.

But if Rocky can cope with Jamie's power and frustrates him, then could end up getting DQ'd this time.

That's just my opinion, time will tell and imo everyone will see
if this happens then hes proving his ability Taylor never been down in his whole career so we will see 27th :o

I'd love to see Cox fight Paul Smith.

On the one hand Cox - a genuine fighter, a lad who's had his problems outside the ring and who's face never seems to fit in terms of getting opportunities trying to fight his way to the top the hard way. And on the other Smith - a plastic boxer, a soft, shopworn pretend fighter going through the motions and getting handed on a plate opportunity after opportunity way out of proportion to his extremely limited skills.

Cox would beat Paul Smith from one end of the ring to the other & back round it again

It would get real for Smith very quickly in there & hed hate being roughed up by Jamie

How so ?

Smith's record marks him as a domestic level plodder who's been dealt with easily enough whenever he's stepped up in class yet somehow he's been manoeuvred into 3 world title fights. He fights sporadically these days, usually in 6 rounders, occasionally making weight and yet he gets a world title shot.

Admittedly I don't know much about Cox other than what I've read on here and seeing a couple of his fights on BN but respected commentators seem to suggest that he could put up a decent show at a higher level than he's fought at thus far.

Cox has done nothing.

Paul Smith is a far superior fighter.

Horse, you have got some serious issues, either that or you just love throwing a fishing line out and waiting for a catch, imo you don't half write some derogatory and nasty shi t, always argumentative comments but can never answer a question decently or with valid points after making short, ridiculous statements.

I was involved with the team that trained Steve Bendall for his fight with Paul Smith, and he beat him and took his unbeaten record, I know what Paul does well and what he doesn't, mainly Paul has a good left hand, jab & hook, not particularly fast, and doesn't get back very quick from where it leaves as been exploited previously in his fights, he likes to be on front foot, but soon as he's put on back foot his boxing falls apart, and that's just for starters mate, I'm not pointing nothing many others don't know or have already seen in Pauls fights out, so I'll keep the main things to myself, imo Jamie stops Paul.

Im lucky enough to manage Jamie and work alongside him and his very talented coach John Costello, now youve made a statement Paul is a far superior fighter, tell me how Paul is a far superior fighter ?
Because I know in every department you name Jamie beats him, so yet again imo your making a stupid statement, and put no valid points to back it up, it may be your opinion and your entitled to it, it would carry more weight if you could tell us how Paul is a far superior fighter in your opinion like you've stated ?

clearly you don't like Jamie for some reason, and that's fair enough and what you think of him is your opinion and your entitled to it wether it as any justification or not, but imo you clearly show a huge dislike for Jamie from many comments about him on numerous threads over time, all uncalled for too tbh, as I bet you don't even know the lad, I don't know maybe he's sha gged someone close to you or something or your just jealous of the lad but at least be honest about the lads boxing ability and give him some credit :TU:

@Horse - Are you a pro?

Jamie Cox is my fav boxer, partly because I own a property in Swindon, live near the NEC and followed him since the start! He'll be a world champ in 12 months. In all honesty, I think he is a tremendous talent.

On a boxing note, he'd beat Paul Smith easily and I agree with all the points his cutsman said in the previous post.

I think he stops Taylor in about 4-5 rounds.......then he'll get put in with Rebrasse or someone on a similar level, smash Rocky from Stocky and be in line for one of the belt holders!

I think he's a tremendous talent aswell :TU: a proper fighting man

Gets a bit carried away at times & risks a DQ but it's entertaining :box:

I think he's gonna get himself out there now with Hearn & start showing the doubters whats what

Cox is a forum hype job.

He's going to blast out everyone, yet can't even do that to Taylor and plenty of others at that level or worse. Dude is almost 31, has beaten no one, and should already have a loss on his record to Obodai Sai.

But the ABA title a zillion years ago and the sparring stories!!!!

Work looks like this next. Just missed the Cox fight was he any good ? Was Taylor in trouble at all ?

People talking about Cox as some massive puncher need to get real. Taylor was a career middleweight around English/ British level.

Fielding v Cox is an ok figt though. But like other posters have mentioned I would prefer Jamie Cox v Paul Smith.

I've still not seen anything in Cox which suggests he can be anything like what his supporters on her are suggesting. I am still to see something which suggest he can win a domestic title at the higher weight. For me Fielding and the Smiths beat him.
