Perhaps Douglas Adams can help us with the answer:
LUNKWILL:
But, but, but - this is preposterous! Are you not a greater computer than The Milliard Gargantu-Brain at Maximegalon, which can count all the atoms in a star in a millisecond?
DEEP THOUGHT:
The Milliard Gargantu-Brain, a mere abacus. Mention it not.

And are you not a more fiendish disputant than The Great Hyperlobic Omnicognate Neutron-Wrangler? Which can destroy -
DEEP THOUGHT:
The Great Hyperlobic Omnicognate Neutron-Wrangler can talk all four legs off an Arcturan Mega-Donkey but only I can persuade it to go for a walk afterwards. Molest me not, with this, pocket calculator stuff!

I speak of none, but the computer that is to come after me.

Oh come on! I think this is getting needlessly messianic.

By the way, there is a poll on the best American boxer on twitter now:
https://twitter.com/MonteroOnBoxing/sta ... 1840012288
I voted Crawford.

I can't believe all the Crawford votes. It's obviously Ward is the best American boxer at the moment.

I agree with your opinion on SOGgy. That does not make our opinions more valid than those who voted for Hitmn Jr.Mexi-Box wrote:I can't believe all the Crawford votes. It's obviously Ward is the best American boxer at the moment.

What is wrong with you? Do I have a new stalker now? No, Ward is the best American boxer. He's ranked higher p4p on pretty much everyone's p4p list. It's consensus that Ward is the best American fighter at the moment.Tanzio wrote:I agree with your opinion on SOGgy. They were taking down whatever minor swelling might be there before the interview. Russell won every round, scored all the knockdowns, and stopped Escandon in 7 in a fan friendly fight. You can't do a lot better than that against a guy who had never been stopped and had only 2 SD losses in 27 fights.. Russell is 28-1 and lost only to Lomachenko over 12. The other top Featherweights are avoiding him like the plague.

The consensus on a subject can be and has often been misguided. That is why we are ruled by law.
Your opinion is that SOGgy is the best current American boxer. Why don't you provide your evidence of him being superior to Hitman Jr, beyond just saying so and citing consensus.
You are very adept at making claims but (up to now) miserable at backing them up.

Kovalev>>>>>>Postol
Froch>>>>>>>Diaz
Ward has p4p #2 Kovalev and possible p4p Froch on his resume. I think I remember Froch being lower top 10 p4p after he beat Bute, Groves, and Kessler.

TRex Jr was one of my favorites coming out of the amateurs. He has talked far more than he has accomplished. If the top feathers won't entertain a fight with him now then I will join your criticism. But the reasons that he has so underachieved are not limited to others ducking him. He has himself and his team to blame.
Escandon landed far too many shots. He is literally a borderline dwarf. No way should TRex Jr have taken that many blows from a guy that short with that arm length. If he did it on purpose it was a mistake.
Then he talks mad sh!t about what he is going to do, especially to Lomassiah. He had his shot at as green a Lomassiah as he will ever get. But Gary talks about how he is going to ktfo the Ukrainian who completely dominated him in every way in his third fight. TRex Jr needs to get busy. Busy like he should have been in his early career. He wasted far too much time, partly because he was being very carefully protected.
Take the best fights you can find and get busy, before it is too late.

Hitman Jr has impressive wins on his resume but he has not faced a true skilled KO machine like SOGgy has repeatedly and he will in June.
Let the debate begin.

Russell would be chasing a breeze in a windstorm if he dreams of beating Lomachenko... It generally takes an amateur boxer 20 fights to adapt his amateur skills to the professional ranks because the sports are so different.. Vasyl did it in 2 fights.. But obviously Russell is the top Featherweight in the world and the other top Featherweights have been ducking him for years.. The only thing that will happen if Santa Cruz, Mares, Selby, Mares, and Cuellar face Gary Russell is -- they'll get badly beaten up before getting brutally knocked out.

He got hit too much. You do not allow yourself to get punched for entertainment value. There are plenty of fighters that will be more than happy to fight TRex Jr. like Valdez, Cuellar, Warrington and Diaz, Quigg, etc. There are plenty of good fights at feather. Fighting less than twice a year won't get it done.
Re: The usual crap this boxing business has become
Bullshiitt... The top guys are NOT willing to fight Russell because they'd get knocked out... If they're so willing, line them up.
I'm talking about the other champs... Santa Cruz, Selby, Mares, and top contenders like Frampton if he's ready to go and Quigg. Screw 'em. They won't fight
And he didn't get punched for entertainment value.. He wasn't knocked down, hurt, or staggered, and he was murdering this kid who had NEVER been stopped.

As I said, people who think that there is a "right way" to create p4p lists should have their mental health checked.
Re: The usual crap this boxing business has become
What I took from the comments after the Crawford fight was that he will have another similar bout in the second half of the year...then they will feed Pac to him in 2018. No doubt he will get a standard, keep-busy opponent after that (as is usually the way)... So Crawford might get close to a 50-50 contest in 2019. I'm already bored of this guy's career.
Re: The usual crap this boxing business has become
What evidence do you have of that? The only "top level" guy that TRex Jr has faced, handled him easily. That "top level" guy was fighting his third fight. TRex Jr had fought nobody of note in a five year plus career prior to Lomassiah. Since then he has continued to fight no hopers and euro level boxers.Kalan wrote:Bullshiitt... Stop with your everybody fears TRex Jr fantasy. Mares fears no one. LSC has had a series of top level fights. Frampton has moved up. Quigg fears no one.
If you have a problem with the situation take it up with Team TRex Jr. They made their own nest.
Re: The usual crap this boxing business has become
Hitman Jr is willing to fight anyone. Arum, as usual, is the problem. That said, Postol was the biggest fight to be made at 140 last summer. Felix Diaz arguably should have gotten the W from Lamont Peterson.Ezzard wrote:What I took from the comments after the Crawford fight was that he will have another similar bout in the second half of the year...then they will feed Pac to him in 2018. The Indongo deserves his shot, no matter how "keep-busy" a fight you might consider it, and it would unify 140. After that we might see Hitman Jr start his welterweight run against Vargas, Peterson, or possibly Tim Ramming Speed Bradley.
It is frustrating when a boxer on Hitman Jr's level comes along. You want every fight to be huge but they can't be. It is beginning to become suspicious how he has been matched with boxers lacking top level pop.
Re: The usual crap this boxing business has become
He's a super skilled operator. But I'm more interested in close fights in which I don't know the outcome.
If he gets matched with Porter, Thurman, Brook, Spence over the next 2-3 years then great. Vargas and Peterson will be similar victims. Love Bradley but I think we've seen his best.
