I did think he had a fight recently. Would be a decent fight if it could happen.Stuarty30 wrote:He only fought a month or so back and it was a bit of a war so he's out the picture I reckon.Crease wrote:Saying one thing is very different from actually doing it. Rigo is defending his super bantamweight title against Flores on the Ward/Kovalev 2 card budStuarty30 wrote:Rigo at feather maybe?
I can't think, Valdez would be a great fight or even Marriaga
Re: Carl Frampton vs TBA
Not much. It's slim pickings at the moment. That's why I think Carl needs to look at someone like a Donaire.Stuarty30 wrote:All the title holders at feather are tied up aren't they?
Russell has just fought. Apparently LSC and Mares are fighting one another. Selby has a mandatory to negotiate.
Who else is there? I can't think off the top of my head.

Valdez would be excellent. Him and Marriaga just had a full on war though so would either be ready for next month?

And that could be the case but homecoming fights are tune ups. You will see it won't any of the names mentioned.Crease wrote:Carl has already said that he doesn't want to fight any more "nobodies" - he wants the big fights for the big bucks and his legacy.world ranked wrote:He's tune up fight nobody of substance. Re: Carl Frampton vs TBA
Donaire is a good name for him but he's way past his best. It'll end up someone like Mijares. Was Walters not talking about coming back to feather? He's a big lad so that might not be possible.Crease wrote:Not much. It's slim pickings at the moment. Mijares is a good name and possible somebody of that level.Stuarty30 wrote:Donaire is a good name for him but he's way past his best. It'll end up someone like Mijares. Re: Carl Frampton vs TBA
I still think it will be Jezreel Corrales (despite having a fight lined up). Legacy wise it is one of the biggest fights out there for Frampton, three weight world champion on home soil, then back down to 126 for Selby or Santa Cruz late 2017/early 2018.

Press conference tomorrow apparently.

Just to throw a name out there, what about Nicholas Walters.?After all I am sure he wants to redeem himself?
Re: Carl Frampton vs TBA
He had crossed my mind as well actually. Doubt he can do feather again though and if it's not for a world title then I think Carl's next fight will be at feather. Good fight though if it is himRoars Like Me wrote:Just to throw a name out there, what about Nicholas Walters.?After all I am sure he wants to redeem himself?

Re: Carl Frampton vs TBA
Yeah looks like it's going to be Andres Guitierrez. Lost a majority decision to Mijares a couple fights back. Not really the kind of fight I was hoping for but he's a young, hungry Mexican so it might be fun while it lasts. Carl was supposed to make easy work of Gonzalez and ended up on his arse twice so I'm sure he'll be preparing with that in mind.
