Boycott Bunces Book
Re: Boycott Bunces Book
I'd sooner have Bunce any day of the week than Spencer Fearon.
Re: Boycott Bunces Book
The books very good. A bit of case of wide as an ocean but deep as a puddle, especially with the early stuff but a very good read. It covers a lot.
Re: Boycott Bunces Book
Your a prime case of a clueless moron as u don't seem to understand that all the boxers, trainers and refs etc stopped posting on forums when twitter started to take over circa 2012 and began tweeting instead.CharlesListon wrote:dalcumly wrote:There seems to be an increasing number of morons on boxrec. This used to be a forum where serious boxing matters were discussed in a civilised manner.
To come on here and slate the author of a boxing book in such a manner suggests there's a 'background' somewhere.
Some of these threads have become pathetic. I don't even fully understand what a 'troll' is but I strongly suspect there are half a dozen 'wasters' have started to bring down this website. I reckon there's dozens of real boxing people have begun to switch off.
I guarantee I'll be attacked now. They can say what the want, I'm off elsewhere.
Spot on. The forum has gone down hill dramatically. This is a classic example.
No wonder that hardly anyone actually involved in pro boxing bothers to post anymore. There used to be boxers, trainers, managers, refs and cutsmen all chipping in with valuable information and opinions.
If I come on once a month now that's it. The majority on here now are clueless morons.
Re: Boycott Bunces Book
Do you have a dual personality because everything u just wrote describes yourself. Your pathetic trolling and tearful sobs at anyone daring to not think the sun shines out of bunces arse was misconstrued by you as an act of war so you stalked me and sent me creepy desperate Pm's........not cool....not cool at all..... oh and dumbfuck another thread independent of me has started with a dozen other people criticising bunce far worse than me go and stalk them if they don't meet your "consensus" stupid trollCaptainSpacerod wrote:You're not very clever are you. You come across as a bit needy, wasn't it you who did those comedy soliloquies parodying BJS but then did them a bit too often and the initial novelty factor quickly wore off ? Anyway I digress.Bricks wrote: have you seen whats going on in the news today . You and your obsession with bunce are the last thing on my or most peoples minds. I agree that it is impossible to educate a loser like youYou are pathetic and any more protesting and posts you do here will just prove the point
You mention today's news and say the topic discussed in this thread is the last thing on your mind seemingly blissfully unaware that by posting today as the full horror of the situation became apparent you were contradicting yourself.![]()
Seek help you say, really ? Liking someone is a symptom of an underlying problem in your world is it ? It's not me projecting my angst by jealously denouncing a successful TV pundit at every turn.
If I'm pathetic for finding Buncey entertaining then I'm not alone am I ? The consensus on this thread supports my point of view. The majority like him and those who can take him or leave him have commented that your criticism of Buncey is way over the top.
Your last sentence is basically pleading with me to stop posting as you can see you're losing face. No chance sucker. You keep digging the hole and I'll happily help you bury yourself.

Re: Boycott Bunces Book
You're very confused. "trolling" is associated with writing negative comments i.e those you made regarding Buncey whereas I've been writing positive comments except when I've been directly insulted by you. "Tearful sobs" is ridiculous and symptomatic of your tendency to exaggerate.Bricks wrote: Do you have a dual personality because everything u just wrote describes yourself. I said you weren't very clever before and you've now proved it by making a false claim intended to belittle me that you can not corroborate. I haven't sent you any PMs. Screenshot one to prove it because if you can't everyone reading this thread will know you made it up and that you're the type of person who cares so much about what anonymous strangers write on internet forums that you need to invent stories about them to temporarily boost your low self esteem.
So go on sucker, prove it or slink away from this thread as a beaten man !!!!

Well my dad did buy me Bunce's book and brought it over today. If nothing else, it's well designed and will look good on my bookcase next to my hundreds of other boxing books. I shall post a review in due course.

I just finished it, got it from the library, was good to read about boxing from an era before my time but I found it frustrating that it's split into years.
You start reading about one fighter and get interested but then it switches to another, and you have to wait until the next chapter to carry on (the chapters are set out in years).
I would have much preferred a chapter on each boxer, by the you get to the next year you've read about 6 other fighters and it becomes a bit of a blur.

I like steve, known him over 30 years, he can be loud, banshee screaming sometime... , He loves his boxing... ok, I understand he is not everyones cup of tea, he visited Errol Christie at the hospice on the friday when I was there, he stayed for an hour just chatting, no ego, he gave Errol his book, as Errol is mentioned a lot in it, he read some storys to Errol, while he layed in his bed, he does care about boxing, I dont get the hate towards him, ,
Peace everybody,
Peace everybody,

Re: Boycott Bunces Book
Eric, the author of this post is a sad internet troll.
If I knew how to post images on here I'd post the idiotic message he sent me offering to meet me outside Slough Nandos tonight.
I'm more than happy to meet him, but realise the chances of him turning up are zero.
If anyone knows who he is pm me, I'd love to know.
He spends a lot of time on here, posting in off topic as frequently as he does on here.
If ever he met Buncey, I am 100% sure he'd just ask for his autograph and a photo.

Will your review be in the same style as BM's John Exshaw?Boxerbeetle wrote:Well my dad did buy me Bunce's book and brought it over today. If nothing else, it's well designed and will look good on my bookcase next to my hundreds of other boxing books. I shall post a review in due course.
I can never understand what he's going on about, too many big words for the likes of me and he always comes across a bit condescending

Exshaw's reviews can be brutal... but I have to admit they are one of my highlights of reading boxing monthly.Flump wrote:I could be wrong but he often comes across as someone who is jealous that he is not inundated with book deals of his own.handsofstone wrote:Will your review be in the same style as BM's John Exshaw?Boxerbeetle wrote:Well my dad did buy me Bunce's book and brought it over today. There are, unfortunately a lot of weak boxing books which are either self published (a recipe for disaster) or published by small firms who don't have the resources to edit sufficiently to make a good book....nor are that choosy about what they publish.
There are some fantastic boxing books out there, especially those that deal with the grime, the seediness, the reality of pro boxing.
Off my head authors Jonathan Rendall (RIP), Ian Probert, Mark Turley, Ben Dirs books are very strong.
Bunce is a self important Bellend but I will down load a preview and might buy it. Say what you want about Bunce but he has been involved in boxing at every different level

Bunce boxed as an amateur. He has also worked extremely closely with MAnagers and promoters including Maloney's famous Uganda show and **i think** one of the original pro shows on Russia (maybe when Glenn McCrory fought Al cole.)Counter-puncher wrote:Apart from fighting training managing or promoting?boxingknockout wrote:Say what you want about Bunce but he has been involved in boxing at every different levelFlump wrote:
