I didn't think the Easter win was a robbery. I thought he won. Pacquiao won tonight.
It was no robbery. I had him winning too but there were too many close rounds. Horn fought a brilliant, rough and tumble fight on home turf.

He had Pac wobbled. We weren't ringside. Horn was mugging him and Pac looked beat up mainly due to the headbutts but Horn landed significant leather, especially in the first half.

No idea why Pac agreed to fight this guy in Australia. For what? What did he possibly have to gain? Obviously didnt respect Horn at all and paid for it. Not a chance he travels back there to fight him again.

He did. Horn fought his ass off, and fought far above any expectation anybody had of him I'm not trying to sh*t on the kid. I earned a lot of respect for him tonight, but he didn't win the fight damn it.

I first thought the stats were off in Mosley's undercard bout, as they had him outlanding an opponent who I thought was outboxing him.
The punchstats were complete sh!t.

Horn deserves more respect than these pr!cks are giving him. The kid fought to his potential and got the win. He had huge heart to get through the ninth and demand to continue between the ninth and tenth.

This is a great story. Hopefully the rematch will add to it.

I have no idea why anyone puts weight in real-time punch stats. They are inaccurate and we ALL KNOW IT! They should have to be done POST FIGHT in slow motion and published well after the fight.

So, should Horn be ridiculed for being a dirty fighter?

I had it even. But no matter it was good action every round and pretty clean which makes a change from the Ward fight.
Horn was as tough as I thought he was going to be. And very fit. He was blasted and came back.

lazboy wrote:Atlas did not even acknowledge one Horn punch let alone a round. You all have been bewitched by his eye/mouth twitch. If you rewatch the fight without Atlas coloured glasses maybe you will see what the judges saw. Horn teeing off on a lifeless Manny.
This could only be true if one respects Atlas' opinion. In fact, Atlas is an intolerably obnoxious buffoon, and if I were going to be influenced by him, it would only be negatively. I detest Atlas so much that I had my TV muted for at least half of the bout.

But Pacquiao boxed well, beat Horn to the punch, made him miss, countered effectively, and and did it all while fighting a cleaner, more sportsmanlike bout. ESPN punch stats are suspect, but they did show PAC out landing Horn to every quadrant of the body. I believe my eyes, and my eyes told me that PAC won a majority of the rounds and deserved to win the fight.

I've been following Horn boxing since his 10th win, I scored 115-113 Horn easily, Pacman was blocked more then half fight, he faced a mirror, felt what is somebody moving and punching like crazy never giving a break to breath over you, his era is done.

Horn did nice most from 1st to 6th-7th rounds (and in 1 or 2 in last 3), he used many angles, jabs, combinations, power punches + angles, forward punch + side angle movements, continuous forward attack, thus blocking Pacquiao from doing the same (as we know he does), many footwork movements, head movements, body movements, many accurate dodges... it was impressive, a very different boxing style from his last 3 fights.

What I disagree is that after 7th round Horn did many chokes and chokes+punching, a total illegal behavior in boxing could be warned 3x + punished by 1 point deduction or punished by 1 point deduction directly, but dirty referee saved him from it...

Hell no. I did not bring it up, and I have no problem with Horn's tactics but if you are going to call SOGgy dirty then Horn stands right next to him. The ref did not penalize them. I am good with it.

I just don't see the controversy. Manny done fornicate all for the first 6 or so rounds.
I think those punch stats are highly questionable

I thought Manny countered fairly well from 2-4, especially in the 3rd.

I don't think that there should be such a big deal about this. It was close. Pac has only himself (and Horn) to blame. He left it too close.

Had it 116-112 Pacquiao. 3-3 after 6. Did not give Horn a round until the 12th, and that was a generous last round for Horn.
