Holyfield is from Georgia

Holmes "The Easton Assassin" is from Pennsylvania.

Frankly I don't figure this is all that important of a thing to note anyway, unless you're FROM that state it's not that big a deal to you. Hell even if you are it's probably not that big a thing for most.

Kentucky, right?
When I think about things like this, I always arbitrarily limit them to my own lifetime, which happens to mean the past 40 years. In that time, he beat Leon Spinks, then retired, and... I like to pretend he had the sense to just stay retired.

Ross Puritty is a great guy but Oklahoma would have to be Sean O'Grady or Tommy Morrison.

I thought Abraham was Armenian
he is but he fights as a German, a lot of Germany's best fighters are in fact foreigners like Sturm is Bosnian, Huck is Bosnian, Stieglitz is born in Russia and he is probably an ethnic Jew, Rocchigniani is of Italian origin, Arslan is Turkish and so on

if we have to add to that list an Armenian fighter that competed as an Armenian then i would say its Vic Darchinyan

Not over Benitez, but Benny Leonard is the guy.

Georgia would be Ray Robinson.
As much as I love Holyfield, Alabama is Joe Louis.
Maryland: joe Gans

Edit:  my bad, missed the 40 years.
