Best Boxing-Themed Bars & Pubs ...

Post by Sequitorian »

There used to be plenty of boxing-themed bars and pubs ... Dempsey's was probably the best ... but they're few and far between now ...

I occasionally stop into Jimmy's Corner when I'm in NYC ... any others worth noting? ...

I don't know about what is clearly a Dempsey rip-off joint ... i.e. just some commercial venture designed to exploit The Champ's name ...

... ESPECIALLY when they write that there is "no better place in New York to catch all the NFL, UFC, Premiere League or Irish Rugby action" ...

Huh? ...

yeah kind of guessed that although it was pretty cool to watch a fight card and have a natter with some new York boxing fans

Yeah ... that's why I said I don't know about it rather than just condemning it altogether ... Hell ... I'd go there to watch the fights, rub shoulders with the fans, yuck it up at the bar, and probably have a great time ...

... sometimes you just gotta take what you can get ...
