Absolutely not, Clev is not slow.TheLeprechaun wrote:Jack is a very very good fighter. Getting starched in one early in his career meant he was always underrated. I was guilty of doing that myself. One of my biggest betting loses was the groves fight.
Cleverly looks slow and predictable. Jack should dominate the fight.

He will get money from elsewhere. The figure shown to NSAC will be lower for tax reasons as well.wesshaw1985 wrote:Clev is the "champ" isn't he? I cant believe the difference in the purses...Glass Joe wrote:purses for fight

Cleverly isn't a world champion.Coco wrote:Jack's first fight at the weight, he wants a title, which champ are you going to choose to fight? Ward, Kovalev, Stevenson, Cleverley..........

Excellent analysis of ClevBigdogsnose wrote:i don't think its a lack of heart that's does for cleverly - more lack of ambition and self belief to fully impress the best of himself in a fight. He can make a very good living out of boxing just doing enough to stay relevant. he is a world champion, but I don't think you can say he grabbed his opportunity with both hands- kind of got handed too him a little. He'll hang with Jack, but not do enough to beat him.
To me Bellew 2 showed where he is at. The move up to cruiserweight was clearly fabricated to build that fight. He never should have moved up but accepted he needed to as that was the money fight, and that he was probably going to lose to a lesser fighter by doing so. Kovalev knocked the ambition to be the best out of him. But the Bellew, fonfara and braehmer fights showed he does have heart and toughness.

Yes - he'll get a slice of the Uk PPV money (albeit a small slice) in addition to what's declared in the US.Naandrew wrote:He will get money from elsewhere. I hope Cleverly is gets paid well off thhe back of the PPV. Even a tiny percentage of the PPV will be some serious change and good for him.
I have a feeling this will be his last fight.

Bit like when Callum Smith and Luke Campbell had $0 purses declared for the Kell Brook fight.

MayMac is due on between 4am and 4.30am from what I've seen.
Not got a clue regarding Cotto...

Cleverly is getting a cut of the U.K. PPV buys as I understand it. The pay sheet is misleading regarding him.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Where did you get this info ?Glass Joe wrote:purses for fight

Good news for Clev if so. I'm sure his degree in Maths comes in handy when negotiating percentage pointsgilgamesh wrote:Cleverly is getting a cut of the U.K. PPV buys as I understand it. Good luck to him but I think the number of UK buys might be rather underwhelminggilgamesh wrote: Cleverly is getting a cut of the U.K. PPV buys as I understand it. The pay sheet is misleading regarding him.

Adam Smith "2 weight world champion Nathan Cleverly"
Aye?
Aye?
Re: Round-By-Round - Nathan Cleverly vs. Badou Jack - August 26th 2017
Jack should win this on points. It cant be that he is robbed again, after all this is FMJ promotion. I wonder what Clev has left in him though.

I cant believe I wrote Jack off again,he always impresses me yet I still bet against him, that was the best ive seen him he did a demolition job on Cleverly, a complete breakdown, I cant believe how outgunned Cleverly was, Jack was punch perfect

Jack for me is one of the most underrated fighters in the sport. He should be lineal super middleweight champion as well.
Time and time again Jack gets written off. The whole forum including myself thought Groves was going to run through him.
I think Cleverly pre Kovalev may have stood a chance but I think Jack is going to stop him around 9-10.
Bivol is mandated to fight the winner straight away as he stood aside for the fight to happen.
No way a stoppage, Badu couldn't knock out a W ank

Clev needs to retire ASAP. Never been the same since Kovalev hammered him.
