If Conor continues a boxing career
How he would do in your opinion? I think he would be a very mediocre fighter, can't see him winning a world title.
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
Doesn't make British level

Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
If he did it would not be worth it in the end all the beltings would start to mount especially if he fought an agrresive big puncher his boxing career would probably end real early it would be a hard sell to put him in with fridge contenders and over the hill fighters
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
At 154 he could face brook, Spence, cotto, canelo, charlo, Lara, Andrade etc
These guys would completely batter conor
These guys would completely batter conor

Ofcourse they would, because you have named a selection of elite fighters, with at least 2 HOFers
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
I think he will fight Cotto next in Cotto's last fight before he retires.
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
If he does fight again, I hope it is a real fight instead of the choreographed BS we saw with him vs Floyd.
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
I doubt he'll fight in any code again in foreseeable future

Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
If he does want to continue, he needs to start from the bottom & work up.
He's well versed in combat sport, so he should learn pretty quickly, but right now, he doesn't belong in the ring with world class, or even European class fighters.

Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
I predict that the WBO will rank McGregor and then he will fight Cotto for the WBO super welterweight title.

Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
Conor vs Kamegai on Cotto-Lemieux undercard

Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
If McGregor was to box from here on those are the guys at the top of his weight class. The point is he's badly out of his depth boxingRicky_ wrote:Ossyrules wrote:At 154 he could face brook, Spence, cotto, canelo, charlo, Lara, Andrade etc

Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
He could fight Malinaggi the Crap talk and story is already there
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
He'd be 0-2
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
If he continued boxing, I think his second fight should be against Malignaggi and his third to be against Khan. If there weren't logistic factors getting in the way, I would further prefer that McGregor got a win against a journeyman before the Malignaggi fight, just so that McGregor isn't dragging everyone down so much with his own 0-rating. But I think McGregor would rather collect some $1 million+ payday in the UFC than fight a journeyman boxer for $200k.
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
99% of boxers are out their depth vs those fighters.Ossyrules wrote:If McGregor was to box from here on those are the guys at the top of his weight class. Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
I would imagine that part of the UFC allowing him to take this fight(he's still under a strict contract) was that he would return to the UFC in a certain time period.AntonS wrote:I doubt he'll fight in any code again in foreseeable future

I'm not sure what you're not getting about this threadRicky_ wrote:99% of boxers are out their depth vs those fighters.Ossyrules wrote:If McGregor was to box from here on those are the guys at the top of his weight class. The point is he's badly out of his depth boxingRicky_ wrote:

The question is "if McGregor continued a career in boxing"
I've said he'd be British level
I've added the top guys at his weight division if he fought in boxing
What's the bit you're disagreeing with
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
What British Level are ya thinking? I mean even a guy like Sam Eggington would dominate him with ease.Ossyrules wrote:

You said "these guys would batter conor" then listed a host of elite multiweight world champions. As if it's something to be ashamed of.Ossyrules wrote:I'm not sure what you're not getting about this threadRicky_ wrote:99% of boxers are out their depth vs those fighters.Ossyrules wrote:

Not the point I was trying to make. Just literally who he could be matched if he continued to box and was matched at the topRicky_ wrote:You said "these guys would batter conor" then listed a host of elite multiweight world champions. Guys that aren't even in the Top 40 could dominate Conor.
Re: If Conor continues a boxing career
Yeah I'd imagine eggington would out last him, Skeete would be too skilled, Gavin would be too. Maybe British level contender not British champion?gilgamesh wrote:What British Level are ya thinking? I mean even a guy like Sam Eggington would dominate him with ease.Ossyrules wrote:
