Remarkeble, the lab is still suspended for a couple of days more. I assume that's the reason Wilder waited.

Omg! Get on it slim!!!!!
Re: Stiverne vs breazele is official
This is just the kind of match-up I love: Not necessarily involving a title or even top fighters, but one you can see going either way. Stiverne has better boxing skills and probably the advantage in punching power. Both are very durable but can be stopped or dropped. Both are warriors who will keep coming as long as they are able.
I think it hinges on how much Stiverne has left. He's 38 now and since losing to Wilder in 2015, he's had just one fight winning a unanimous decision over journeyman Derric Rossy who put him on the floor. If Stiverne is still the fighter he was three years ago I'd favour him to win a decision but it is not looking good for him in my opinion.
Finally and sorry for being a pernickety old git but can we please give Bermane the respect of getting his name right. Everyone calls him "Ber-mayne" but it is in fact pronounced "Berman" ... says the guy who has been known to spell it wrong

More likely Wilder vs Charles Martin or Wilder vs 'Injury' or a mix of both.crusader wrote:Does this mean Ortiz-Wilder is happening?

Breazele by tko.
Re: Stiverne vs breazele is official
Hopefully this will end up with a proper #1 contender. It needs to happen and I'm glad it is. The only question is how long will it be before the winner of this gets their mandatory shot?
A year like the rules say?
Two years?

Good fight. Breazeale's last fight was a brilliant watch, hopefully this one will be the same. I'll probably be rooting for him as I think he's got a bit more to offer the division in the future. Maybe not as a real threat to the champions, but at least at the level below.

Tactical master stroke or lucky break. I think the former. Plus he stopped Kevin Barry's latest hopeful and that made me happy and a Breazeale fan all in one fight.
I don't agree with previous posts that Breazeale will KO Stiverne. If Wilder couldn't do it, before he injured himself, what makes Breazeale different?
This is a big career making shot for Dominic, I hope he takes it seriously and comes in as fit as possible because Stiverne seems to be able to control pace and Dominic needs to outwork him like Wilder did to get the win.
In his favour Breazeale had been more active and is younger. I think he can do it
Re: Stiverne vs breazele is official
Breazeale is far from a top heavy. He got his ass handed to him by 42 or 43? year old Mansour, losing every round until the fight got stopped because Mansour bit his tongue almost in half. His size advantage is his greatest asset, and it did him no good at all vs Mansour.
Stiverne is not only getting old, but is rusty as hell. Even fight. Neither guy deserves to be anywhere near a title shot.

Re: Stiverne vs breazele is official
50/50 fight. Breazeale has never been too impressive, neither has Stiverne. Breazeale has heart, and punching power of his own, and he's a better ex-football player turned boxer than Derric Rossy was, and Stiverne had a hard time with Rossy so...I'm taking Breazeale to win.

Re: Stiverne vs breazele is official
But then why is it not scheduled on boxrec? Because the lab in California that helped Stiverne and Wilder is still suspended because of all their "mistakes" around innocent Povetkin for example?
Re: Stiverne vs breazele is official
Stiverne hasn't fought for almost 2 years.

Can you just STFU about that unless you would show it has any truth to it? You re like a broken record.
Re: Stiverne vs breazele is official
Mansour was giving him a lesson but Breazeale is an ex-football player with little or no amateur boxing experience. He's learning as he goes along and the Ugonoh result suggests at least some improvement. I'm sure Mansour didn't just bite his tongue either, Breazeale wasn't just a spectator in that incident.Badhusker wrote:Breazeale is far from a top heavy. When you look down the list, how many names there really deserve a title shot, but someone has to get one? You know what they say about the kingdom of the blind don't you?

Re: Stiverne vs breazele is official
"The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has suspended its accreditation of the UCLA UCLA Laboratory as it relates to analysis of specific prohibited substances, effective 14 June 2017 for a period of three months. The suspension of these analyses by the UCLA Laboratory -- which is located in Los Angeles, California, United States -- is a result of WADA’s quality assessment procedures that identified non-conformities with best practice."Badhusker wrote:Can you just STFU about that unless you would show it has any truth to it? But I gladly get proven wrong, please note that I already wrote this over two months ago:
http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f ... 1#p4701971
And still didn't get proven wrong, despite this was politely asked several times.
In 4 days, or very soon after that, they will probably make the date official. It's all predicted a long long time ago and currently, everything seems to be predicted perfectly correct.
Also note that some sources write:
Sunday 5th November 2017 03:00
And they already wrote that over a month ago! Now how can they know that and if this is already known, then why don't they advert this in any way whatsoever?
