PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
The BBBC have appointed Terry O'Connor as Referee and also appointed British Judges, which have angered the Parker camp and the WBO.
It is understood the WBO have sent the BBBC numerous requests to abide by its rules where all officials should be from neutral countries,
When Fury was to fight Parker in New Zealand earlier this year the Officials were from Neutral Countries, so its only reasonable the same applies here in the UK,
The WBO could withdraw Title recognition from this bout by Fight time, and its something I believe may happen to bolster the WBO's stance in World Boxing,
So if Fury wins then Parker will still be Champion...

Oh for goodness sake
Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
How can this be true? I can think of a million fights with the WBO on the line where there wasn't totally neutral judges/referee.
Pacquaio-Vargas had all American judges and American referee.
Billy Joe Saunders had a British ref and an English judge.
Sounds like excuses to me.

Ward Kovalev. All American officials.
Both times.

Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
When Parker had his last 2 Title fights in new Zealand the four Officials in each bout were from Foreign Counties not one was a New Zealander,
Maybe its something the the WBO have in place when their's is the only title at stake as the Ward vs Kovalev bouts had other organisations at stake as well as the WBO's. ??

Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
Title of the thread is misleading. This isn't a non title bout (yet).
If team Parker are unhappy with British judges then they should appoint neutral if they can get them though

Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
SO IT SEEMS THE BBBC HAVE APPOINTED THE OFFICIALS IN DIRECT CONFLICT TO THE WBO RULES.
THE WBO PRESIDENT IS TO APPOINT THE OFFICIALS NOT THE BBBC,
A DIRECT VIOLATION OF THE CONTRACTS IN PLACE FOR THIS BOUT.
PARKER MAY BE ON THE 7:25 am UNITED AIRLINES FLIGHT TO NEW YORK IN THE MORNING

Are they guidelines or rules then? You've said they are both in this thread (or possibly other thread). Guidelines and rules are 2 different things...BIGDOUG58 wrote:SO IT SEEMS THE BBBC HAVE APPOINTED THE OFFICIALS IN DIRECT CONFLICT TO THE WBO RULES.

Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
The WBO has not withdrawn its sanctioning of the bout yet. The WBO will lose their fee if they do withdraw. If the BBBoC keeps this stance, I think the WBO will try not to schedule world title fights in United Kingdom anymore.

I'm not really sure what point you think you're making?Badhusker wrote:Covfefe wrote:Ward Kovalev. All American officials.
Both times. That would be shocking if they one of them had fought even over half of their fights in another country. About 95% of Kovalev's fights have been in the US.
If their guidelines call for neutral country judges/officials (which I doubt they do) then having all Americans for WBO title fights in the states is nonsense.
Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
There is no real argument vs neutral judges. Badhusker is just a massive homerCovfefe wrote:I'm not really sure what point you think you're making?Badhusker wrote:Covfefe wrote:Ward Kovalev. All American officials.

Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
Not sure about this. WBO has a strong history with U.K., especially warren. Doubtful this happensRScarf1 wrote:The WBO has not withdrawn its sanctioning of the bout yet. Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
I don't think they could do that anyway. If a Brit goes abroad beats a champion for the WBO they can't stop him fighting at home? I wouldn't think so anyway.Ossyrules wrote:Not sure about this. Hypocritical from Arum- look at the ref and judges for when Crawford fought Dierry Jean -

Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
If the WBO continues to sanction this fight, then they allow the BBBoC to have control or they don't sanction it and make no money. I don't think the BBBoC is going to change their stance on this fight with Fury.
Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
There're excuses and there's reality. The reality is, this game is corrupt through and through.Covfefe wrote:How can this be true? I can think of a million fights with the WBO on the line where there wasn't totally neutral judges/referee.

Pacquiao is extremely popular in America and is essentially treated like an American -- but you still had the first Erik Morales fight and the first Tim Bradley fight. When Pac fought in Australia recently they came up with the wrong winner again. I had him losing all his Marquez fights -- though 3 were "close."
They're NOT going to take a fight from you if you score a KO or if you beat the crap out of the favorite son -- but if the fight can be interpreted by anyone as “close” you’re going to catch the shiity end of the stick. Ruiz and Takan really beat Parker in “close” fights. If this fight is “close” it’s going to Fury.
It may not be be close. Fury has had a lot of physical and health problems and he lacks experience... I wouldn't put him into a fight like this right now. He does have some size, reach, talent, and ability. That's why I would wait. Waiting an extra 2 years for big money fights can extend your career by 5 years.
Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
It's bad... Neutral officials should be appointed... This is like the Kovalev-Ward, Pac-Horn, and GGG-Canelo fights... Corrupt through and through.BIGDOUG58 wrote:The BBBC have appointed Terry O'Connor as Referee and also appointed British Judges, which have angered the Parker camp and the WBO.

However, Parker should be more motivated to score a KO.
Re: PARKER VS FURY NON TITLE BOUT.
Fury is NOT a top heavy, and if Parker struggles with him, he deserves to lose. Pathetic match up for a title fight.
If anyone is complaining about the officials, well, it is pretty sad.

No, just a realist that doesn't rely on pissing and moaning before a fight of a robbery. This is a mismatch that shouldn't matter. Parker is B level and Fury is C at best.
