I personally had it for Golovkin too, i gave rounds 2 and 12 clearly for Canelo, and round 11 could go either way but i gave it to Canelo. why in your opinion round 1 was clearly won by Canelo?Lackeos wrote:Several people on boxrec seemed to give Golovkin round 1, but that was a very, very clear round for Alvarez. It's pretty weird that these people are claiming Golovkin got robbed when they are robbing Alvarez of a super obvious round on their own scorecards.
Does anyone think that Canelo won?

I disagree. It was a similar type of robbery but not as egregious. JCC was not as competitive with Sweet Pea as GingerHead was last night.JoeCorrao wrote:I'd say Whitaker/Chavez level robberycrusader wrote:Moderately bad robbery IMO
I would say it compares more closely with Hagler v SRL, although this was worse than that one.

None of these are egregious robberies. No hallacuous shots landed, no knockdowns, nobody ever hurt or stunned. Some judges like pressure regardless of how ineffective while others like movement and flashy crap of equal ineffectiveness
Re: GGG got ripped off ... but how big ?
Just watched rounds 1 and 10 again, round 1 belongs to Canelo imo and 10 could be scored for him too without biasness (was close)
At the time I scored 2,3,11 & 12 for Canelo without hesitation (however I haven't re-watched yet), therefore I don't think a draw could be considered a robbery.
I don't think you can score the fight for Canelo though as the other 6 rounds were far more one sided.

Any one imo who thinks that about scoring the fight a draw is either an idiot or really believed that ggg would win the fight easilyRScarf1 wrote:Anyone who scored GGG vs. Canelo as a draw or in favor of Canelo is an idiot and/or corrupt, so two of the judges were as well as any media who scored it this way.

maybe Golovkin don't won easily, but for sure he won clearly/samdance wrote:Any one imo who thinks that about scoring the fight a draw is either an idiot or really believed that ggg would win the fight easilyRScarf1 wrote:Anyone who scored GGG vs. Canelo as a draw or in favor of Canelo is an idiot and/or corrupt, so two of the judges were as well as any media who scored it this way.

Didn't you start a thread here about how you couldn't see how it was going to be anything other than a Canelo win?samdance wrote:Any one imo who thinks that about scoring the fight a draw is either an idiot or really believed that ggg would win the fight easilyRScarf1 wrote:Anyone who scored GGG vs. Canelo as a draw or in favor of Canelo is an idiot and/or corrupt, so two of the judges were as well as any media who scored it this way.

Canelo just needs another 10,000 hours of practice!
Re: Does anyone think that Canelo won?
I think the thread was an effort to convince me not to throw lots of money on Canelo, however I have also stated that I was going back and forth on this fight.crusader wrote:Didn't you start a thread here about how you couldn't see how it was going to be anything other than a Canelo win?samdance wrote:Any one imo who thinks that about scoring the fight a draw is either an idiot or really believed that ggg would win the fight easilyRScarf1 wrote:Anyone who scored GGG vs. Canelo as a draw or in favor of Canelo is an idiot and/or corrupt, so two of the judges were as well as any media who scored it this way.

I did and I had 2, 11 and 12 for Canelo. 1 and 3 were pretty close but still GGG got the nod in them.samdance wrote:Re-watch rounds 1 to 3 and 10 to 12 I think they can be scored for Canelodagilechia wrote:maybe Golovkin don't won easily, but for sure he won clearly/samdance wrote:

Not rewatched but i think i had Canelo 1, 2 & 3.
From rounds 4-10 he was on his bike, he couldn't hang with the stronger Ggg. Although, Canelo landed the more eye catching shots.
Canelo needed a KO to win but he took rounds 11 & 12 i thought, tightening the cards to 7-5.

I agree that a draw is generous to Canelo but not a terrible scorecarddagilechia wrote:I did and I had 2, 11 and 12 for Canelosamdance wrote:Re-watch rounds 1 to 3 and 10 to 12 I think they can be scored for Canelodagilechia wrote: maybe Golovkin don't won easily, but for sure he won clearly/
Re: Does anyone think that Canelo won?
This whole routine of watching a robbery, and then getting on Boxing forums to complain about it is getting damn old. I'm beginning to care about the sport less and less. Didn't previously think that was possible, but in a year where 2 of my favorite fighters have been f*cked over by corruption 3 times in one 12 month period, it's getting to be a bit much to take.
Re: GGG got ripped off ... but how big ?
First 2:20 of the round, they were about even on damage. Last 40 seconds, Alvarez clearly did more damage. Golovkin's jab was super soft in round 1, and the small number of jabs he landed did 0 damage. Alvarez landed more power punches, and his power punches seemed to be heavier also.dagilechia wrote:I personally had it for Golovkin too, i gave rounds 2 and 12 clearly for Canelo, and round 11 could go either way but i gave it to Canelo. why in your opinion round 1 was clearly won by Canelo?Lackeos wrote:Several people on boxrec seemed to give Golovkin round 1, but that was a very, very clear round for Alvarez. Damage? Was GGG hurt or something?

By the way, why is nobody talking about Trella giving round 7 to Canelo when even Byrd gave it to GGG ? The guy clearly tries to enter Vegas "elite" judges club.

ya ...7th was very clear GGG

He's in the conversation for sure. Don't think there's been a true 1 since Pacquaio and MayweatherTanzio wrote:SOGgy remains P4P #1.
Re: GGG got ripped off ... but how big ?
It was pretty poor. 8-4 golovkin and I struggle to give Canelo anymore than 4. I actually scored it 9-3 but I'm willing to give a close round if need be.
A draw is a bit of a stinker it really was. Obviously the disgraceful card just rubs it in worse. Ffs if you're gonna be corrupt at least try be realistic with it. Can a professional judge be that inept?
Thinking of close fights...
Kovalev v ward 1 was closer than this
Golovkin v Jacobs was possibly closer.
Disappointed for golovkin I really am
