Incredible to see Fury in such poor shape for the biggest fight of his life. I've seen Parker in much better shape too.

I thought that too. Parker looks a stone overweight and fury a stone under with little or no muscle definition. I know its not a weight lifting or body building contest but surely with the right diet and conditioning and exercise you will at least look the part.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Incredible to see Fury in such poor shape for the biggest fight of his life. I know physique isn't everything but... I reckon i could 'look' in better shape then Fury within ~3months while working full timerd350lc wrote:What a bag of mess ! With all the prep time he's had there is no excuse to look in such bad shapeSaadOffTheDeck wrote:Lol, Hughie looks like he's been going to McDonald's with his cousin!
He looks skinny but bloated. Skin still looks inflamed to me thats not left over scarring.
Team Fury should probably stop with the Rocky style shit, especially if Hughie has autoimmune disorders ruining his health.... He desperately needs a good sports science team, nutritionist, strength and conditioning coach etc...

Lucky it's a fight and not a physique contest

People say this to justify athletes turning up in poor shape.Oiky wrote:Lucky it's a fight and not a physique contest

Looking defined is one thing. Not having a pot belly is another.mickey1975 wrote:Hughie is in shape, he will never look defined.

The physique issue comes up a lot.
A man doesn't have to look like a bodybuilder to be fighting fit, however a body that has been trained to be strong and fit and ready to box at a world championship level generally looks better than Hughie looks here.
Off the top of my head I'd say Calzaghe is an excellent example of a physique that never looked super muscular but he always looked fit and healthy.
I was a little surprised by how Parker looks too. He has big strong, typically 'southern hemisphere' muscular frame but looks a little softer around the edges than I have seen him in the past.

I'll probably just listen to the fight on Radio 5 Live at 10:30pm.

Yeah, he looks horrible. No way that is top condition. His gut is made to look worse with no muscle tone at all.Boxerbeetle wrote:Looking defined is one thing. Not having a pot belly is another.mickey1975 wrote:Hughie is in shape, he will never look defined.

His skin looks as bad as ever too. There was a picture of him in the latest Boxing News/Monthly, can't recall which, chopping a log in half and his acne looked absolutely shocking.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Yeah, he looks horrible. I suspect that it will remain very sparse but every arena show ever is that empty at this point in the night

To be fair we have decent seats. But the lad behind me who has just paid on the night paid £40. My seat is £65.
