I think it's funny how these promoters pluck talented kids out of the projects and hoods by throwing money at them and promises of fame and fortune and then do nothing to assist them in the transition. Tank grew up on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland. For those outside of the country, pull up a a few episodes of "The Wire" on HBO and you'll see what kind of environment this kid came from. Most kids either die or are in jail. 22 year old millionaire all of a sudden. You don't need a doctorate from an Ivy League College in Psychology to predict that the kid is going to go through some growing pains with that kind of trajectory.

His "home boys" who aren't boxers are jealous and want to bring back down into the hole that they're in and neither Davis nor his buddies consciously realize that.
Very common problem for those trying to escape from the 'hood.

He'll need help to pull this one off!!

I can't even imagine. I've never even driven into a neighborhood THAT bad much less live in one so who am i to say how bad it was. I was just trying to put the kids troubles in perspective for those writing him off as just another Broner. The kid deserves a few chances if he's legitimately wants to make good of his life.

Generally it's the hangers on that make the trouble.
I hope he stays out of jail. His manager should be educating him better. A life coach. Or maybe he should meet one of the many many boxers that ended up broke and in jail. Scared straight.
Boxers from his gym and a gym not far away from his have been shot dead on the streets. Nothing scares these kids. As Saad said, he's from a bad hood. It's the same hood that "The Wire" was filmed in. His coach Calvin Ford is the guy the character "Cutty" was based off of. Tank has been sparring my boxers since he was a 13-14 year old. He's a nice kid but didn't graduate high school and now he has money. There's not many good role models where he's from. I'm sure his coach Calvin is trying to steer him right. Calvin did 10 years in the joint. It's hard on the streets for young guys like Tank.

That's fair enough and totally valid. But given that he does have money and people with vested interest in his future, I was hoping there could be a support network that might remove him from the environment and put the focus on his boxing. I really feel for guys in boxing who end up broke and or in jail.

Mayweather tried to get him to move to Vegas but he wants to stay in Baltimore in the neighborhood where he is from. He has enough money to move to the suburbs but he doesn't want that.

It appears that someone has been pacified financially or by intimidation.
