I'm on it just for a few quid. He should have been dq'd twice that I've seen so far against far lesser opponents than Groves.TheGingerBomber wrote:20/1 Skybet marra.Stuarty30 wrote:Wonder what the odds are on Cox getting DQ'd! Wouldn't surprise me.

Because people have some kind of entitlement to free entertainment?smiling assassin wrote:Each to their own mate. For me, if I don't value a contest enough to pay to see it then I'd consider it a waste of my time watching a stolen stream.

It's a pretty cool thing they're doing it. It'd be a shame for it to fail.

Don't get me wrong I ain't knocking you for your reasoning on not wanting to stream mate. I just feel that certain fights should be free to air, and this fight for me falls into that category. As a boxing fan I want to watch most fights and if that means streaming then I am all for it.leejonesjnr wrote:Because people have some kind of entitlement to free entertainment?smiling assassin wrote:Each to their own mate. Re: George Groves vs. Jamie Cox - Who's watching?
I think it depends. There are some stupid PPVs what just seem like greed, then there are more legit PPVs.

I'd prefer it to be free but I want to see it more than I want £9.95 and that's how much it costs to see.smiling assassin wrote:Don't get me wrong I ain't knocking you for your reasoning on not wanting to stream mate. Meh, the opinion of a man with enough time on his hands to be a mod on a boxing forum yet knows very little about boxing isn't really my concern, especially one who likes to imply he is stealing PPVs but too cowardly to say so outright.gilgamesh wrote:The marketers love you.leejonesjnr wrote:I'd prefer it to be free but I want to see it more than I want £9.95 and that's how much it costs to see.smiling assassin wrote: Don't get me wrong I ain't knocking you for your reasoning on not wanting to stream mate. The idea that I don't know anything about Boxing I find a highly unusual accusation, but you're entitled to your opinion.
I live in a house that leaks when it rains. Sorry if I don't spend the money I don't have on "important" things like Boxing PPV's that shouldn't be PPV's.

Again I understand your point. The money ain't a issue I'm not buying it out of principal. Hope you enjoy it though mate and I hope I get a stream that doesn't stop start the whole way throughleejonesjnr wrote:I'd prefer it to be free but I want to see it more than I want £9.95 and that's how much it costs to see.smiling assassin wrote:Don't get me wrong I ain't knocking you for your reasoning on not wanting to stream mate. Agree with this. Pay per view is killing the sport, complete greed and short term thinking over long term growth and sustainability.dalcumly wrote:If this was free I'd probably watch it if I wasn't doing anything else.
ITV get their income from advertising. The people who buy this event will actually be paying money to watch a whole load of adverts as well as some boxing and listening to the build up.
Sad really. The whole PPV thing is causing me to basically switch off as far as boxing is concerned.
For years we’ve been crying out to have the best fight the best. We finally get it with this tournament and then just when our hopes are raised they take it away from the public by making you pay to watch it.
The preliminary rounds should have been used to build up interest in the tournament, The fighters and the sport. You could have had a PPV finale and nobody would have complained.

Re: George Groves vs. Jamie Cox - Who's watching?
As a self confessed George Groves fan, I’d have happily bought this until I realised you couldn’t simply use the remote (never paid for any of the ridiculous ITV box office events before so was not registered) and had to pre-pay with a credit/debit card. Given previous problems with start up PPV channels, I’m loathe to do that.
So instead I watched a crystal clear stream on Kodi. Own goal by ITV as they lost a tenner from me, and countless others, and now I know a good source I’ll be doing the same for the rest of the tournament, when I’d have also happily paid for Groves v Eubank and Smith v the winner.
Last night, like last week, should have been on ITV1, build up an audience for the next round.

I'd love to know the ppv numbers . These fights must be getting streamed to the hilt as 99 percent of people think they are not ppv "worthy" .

Re: George Groves vs. Jamie Cox - Who's watching?
At £9.95, selling even 50k ppv buys would only equate to less than £500k.. I don't understand the kind of deal ITV have made with WBSS.rd350lc wrote:In total agreement.MarkMcBurney wrote:As a self confessed George Groves fan, I’d have happily bought this until I realised you couldn’t simply use the remote (never paid for any of the ridiculous ITV box office events before so was not registered) and had to pre-pay with a credit/debit card.
