One was primary, one in the general in case you cared. But please have a ted talk, hopefully Ted & Deontay can expunge all my sins.

Anthony Joshua vs. Carlos Takam (IBF number 3)
Re: AJ vs PULEV off ?
Takem has the movement and experience to survive at least 3 rounds. His chin is above average as are his skills. I don't think is will be a Martin type blow out. At least I hope it isn't

Beg to differ. Arreola is a "has-been"...Takam is a "never-was".dagilechia wrote:Takam would be a good opponent, at least it is not someone like shot Arreola

Good comparison. Not much difference between a 3rd-tier fighter like Takam and a 4th-tier fighter like Martin.KiwiRider wrote:Takem has the movement and experience to survive at least 3 rounds. Arreola achieved nothing more than Takam has. If they fought now Takam would beat him comfortably. Not sure if he wouldn't always have beaten him.Best Coast wrote:Beg to differ. Re: AJ vs PULEV off ?
Why not Ortiz? Wilder is a chicken shit for not fighting Ortiz even though he tested dirty....and Wilder said he would fight him anyway. Crap fight.
Re: AJ vs PULEV off ?
Wilder said he'd fight him anyway, but he's not going to is he? So he's a liar too is what you're saying?Badhusker wrote:Why not Ortiz? Wilder is a chicken poo for not fighting Ortiz even though he tested dirty....and Wilder said he would fight him anyway. Crap fight.
Not that anybody should expect him to fight a guy that just tested positive, but it's a ridiculous defense on your part, and doesn't take away from the fact that he hasn't fought ONE Top 10 ranked opponent in over 2 and a half years as "Champion"
Meanwhile Joshua just found one on 2 weeks notice to replace the one he was already gonna fight.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy on this forum, the Wilder haters vs the Joshua nuthuggers. Wilder controls Haymon, WADA, VADA, WBC,

Because he's satisfying his mandatory. It's one thing to make fun of all the irrational Wilder haters, I do it too. Though I have all of them but Gil on ignore. Acting the same way towards Joshua doesn't accomplish anything but make you look as bad as they do.Badhusker wrote:Why not Ortiz? Oops, I thought you were serious. Carry on.
Re: AJ vs PULEV off ?
I am not one of the people saying Wilder controls Haymon, WADA, VADA or the WBC. I simply point out that he hasn't defended against a single Top 10 opponent in nearly 3 years as Champion, and since his next opponent is Bermane Stiverne for the 2nd time, and Stiverne is no longer Top 10 this time it'll soon be 3 years.Badhusker wrote:gilgamesh wrote:Wilder said he'd fight him anyway, but he's not going to is he? Stiverne was Top 10 the first time they fought when Wilder won the title from him. This time he ain't ranked at all because he's been inactive for almost 2 years.

At least Wilder will knock him out this time.

Arreola always sucked really bad. Takam is clearly better.

btw if Joshua fights Whyte now, people would say ''again he will knock his fat ass out, mismatch'' if Wilder faces Whyte now ''finally Deontay faces a decent opponent'' - that is the difference of Joshua and Wilder resume ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Joshua has the best Heavyweight win since Lewis beat Holyfield. I've never heard anyone claim Wilder should be rated ahead of AJ.

Whyte would be a step back down for AJ. It'd be a significant step up for Wilder.
Re: AJ vs PULEV off ?
Agreed. Smart insurance policy by Hearn. I'm not suggesting Pulev wasn't prepared to take his lumps for $4m but he has always seemed strangely unenthusiastic about a Joshua fight. I expect he'll get another chance. Does Takam count as the mandatory now?klitoris wrote:Since this is a mandatory, Hearn already had a pre-made deal done with Takam incase Pulev pulled out. This way Joshua gets the IBF mandatory done and doesn't have to worry about it again.
For Pulev to pull out on a fake, Hearn would have to pay him basically his purse which is ridiculous.

Takam comes in with 2 weeks till the fight night, I don’t see what more they could have done to save losing thousands preparing for this show.Best Coast wrote:Beg to differ. Allegedly he was on stand by and in the gym. We’ll see what type of shape he’s in soon

Pulev never wanted the fight, imo. I read he has turned down a chance to fight Joshua more than once, besides this time. Takam should be in shape, because Hearn said himself he "made a deal" with Takam's team to start camp and be on stand-by. They didn't have to pay Pulev not to fight, I'm guessing they knew he didn't want it in the first place, as he has proved before. Injury? I doubt it.
