Marquez prime was at a totaly different weight than cottos. Same for de la hoya, who was at his best around 140-147. Huck and usyk win. Kovalev beats dariusz.dagilechia wrote:i mean prime versions of these fighters:

Re: Some fantasy match-ups
Why do u cant.pick spence. Spence techniquly more sound. But prime mayorga was violant hard hitting scareless puncher. If spence thought he could just walk through mayorga and leave himself open he wouldve end up on the canvas. Overall spence a better boxer thats why i would take him as the winner, but prime m was no joke.Ossyrules wrote:JonesJip wrote:Jones-mcclellan

Re: Some fantasy match-ups
Honestly can't remember well enough how Dariusz or Grigory fight well enough to make predictions there. Maybe I'll refresh my memory sometime soon and come back to this. As for the other ones:dagilechia wrote:i mean prime versions of these fighters:

Grigory Drozd vs Alexander Usyk
Marco Huck vs Krzysztof Wlodarczyk
Alexander Povetkin vs David Haye
Nikolai Valuev vs Deontay Wilder
Saul Alvarez vs Oscar De La Hoya
Juan Manuel Marquez vs Miguel Cotto
how you see outcomes of these fights?
Wlodarczyk TKO11 Huck
Wlod is able to get enough through Huck's guard in a hard fight often enough to force a stoppage. Could go either way though.
Haye DEC (close) Povetkin
Against the dubiously improved Povetkin (let's not derail this thread though) that appeared after the Klitschko loss Haye is still able to control distance well enough to take a decision win. He'd also likely stop the pre-Klitschko Povetkin around round 8 or so.
Wilder DEC (close) Valuev
Wilder is able to keep on his toes and out-point Valuev over 12 dull rounds. A flash knockdown and a few very low intensity rounds make it closer than it needs to be. A vocal minority claim robbery.
Alvarez DEC (close) De La Hoya
Oscar could fight at a higher intensity than Canelo but I just have a feeling he'd let this one slip through his fingers.
Marquez KO9 Cotto (140)
Cotto DEC Marquez (147)
Younger Cotto tries to come down hard on an interloping Featherweight and comes a cropper in a painful and memorable way. The more robust version of Cotto is able to dictate terms most of the way through and gets a hard won decision.

Let your fantasy decide who would win prime against prime!
RJJ keeps McClellan guessing over 12 and maybe a flash KD punctuates his dominance.
Tyson KO3 Joshua
Joshua wouldn't stand to be pushed around and in a fire fight Tyson's power takes a toll on AJ earlier than the other way round. Joshua might not have reached his prime yet though.
Lomachenko DEC (clear) Hamed
PNH's unorthodoxy gives Loma plenty to think about early before he starts landing cleanly and clearly over the second half of the fight. Again a KD or two could add to Loma's impression of superiority on the night.
Morales DEC (very clear) Santa Cruz
If Leo wants a fight he gets out-fought, if he wants a boxing match he gets out-boxed.
Monzon DEC Golovkin
Generally having the first and last word in exchanges and being better at pacing a long fight give Monzon a hard earned decision win. Maybe he'd grind GGG out of there over 15.
Alvarez KO9 Margarito
Marg walks into Canelo's power over and over again until he can't take any more. He isn't big enough to try to grind Saul down the way he did Cotto.
Crawford KO11 Tszyu
Crawford had too many tools for KT to deal with. Should be fun early like Crawford-Gamboa but has become one-sided more than a few rounds before the end.
Don't think Gonzalez was prime at Strawweight and would get stopped by Lopez. Likewise Lopez maybe wasn't prime for his late run at Light Flyweight and would likely get out-pointed by Gonzalez.
Spence KO7 Mayorga
Don't see Mayorga making much impact on Errol who grinds him down mid-rounds.

Bruno at his best beats Wilder within 6
Pavlik beats Barkley on points but has to climb off the floor to do it

Re: Some fantasy match-ups
Kovalev is more skilled, but Michalczewski is tougher IMO. Both are/were very good punchers. Tough call. Probably Kovalev by UD, but I wouldn't be surprised if Michalczewski scored come-from-behind KO victory.dagilechia wrote:i mean prime versions of these fighters:

Usyk TKO11 Drozd
Wlodarczyk MD12 Huck
Haye close decision (with a couple of KDs) against Povetkin
Wilder KTFO3 Valuev (Valuev will be too wide-open for Wilder's windmilling punches)
Alvarez would beat washed up 160 lbs verion of ODLH, at 154 ODLH would beat him
Marquez MD12 Cotto (at 140 or 147)

i am very surprised that most of people think Wlodarczyk would beat Huck, i think Wlodarczyk at prime should win but im surprised because expected reverse predictions as Huck is better known fighter for most of people i think
