Funny. But that wasn't the general feeling at the time of the bout.
Lewis opened at around a 9-5 favorite and the odds steadily dropped.
For a while, Golota was actually a slight favorite.
As I recall, I took Lewis at about -160.
Golota looked pretty imposing against Bowe, despite the eventual outcome.
Few suspected Golota-Lewis would be a mismatch on the scale of Liston-Patterson.
The Pole was considered to have a decent chance to win the title that night.
To suggest otherwise is revisionist history.
