Buzzing for Taylor again last night. To do what he did to Vazquez in only his 11th pro fight was very impressive. I thought he controlled the pace throughout and blocked a lot of Vazquez attacks as well. Seemed a bit over eager to impress but that's to be expected. I was confident from the start the stoppage would come. Looking forward to seeing who's next. Yigit for the European title or Catterall for the British would be good to see. I think he stops both.
I liked the look of Taylor from the start, but he still manages to impress me more every time he steps up in levels.
On Saturday he made the step up from prospect to contender and seemed well within his element.
At this stage of most fighters careers they would usually look at British or European titles, but with Crawford vacating, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go for a vacant belt early next year with a view to unify against Flanagan in the summer.
140 is weak now. he shouldnt wait around more than another few fights to go for a title if he keeps winning like this. id certainly pick him over the russian who just won the ibf. though think theyre lining him up for yet another broner belt cherry pick. yigit and catteral would both be good for next opponents.
looking at the 140 boxrec rankings, i think he could beat everyone who is actually campaigning at the weight (crawford and garcia are ranked at 140 but will be fighting elsewhere). in this division what hes already done goes a long way
I'm starting to look forward to his fights more than any other fighter at the moment. He is so controlled and his work his so varied he just gives you that feeling that the sky's the limit really.
Definitely feel the lack of perceived interest is more to do with not being on sky than the fact he is Scottish. Wouldn't care, I really like the ch5/spike coverage.
Would very much like a Taylor/Flanagan unification if they can both grab a belt. Would definitely go for Yigit around February, different test than Vasquez.

McGuigan desperately needs a new star so will most likely push him forward and with so many titles available it will be pretty easy i'd say,i still long for the days of British,Commonwealth and European title fights which provided us with so many great domestic showdowns.

I think he is now Crawford has moved up.
I’d fancy Taylor to beat Burns, Indongo and Postol. (The champs before they became unified)
The only current champion is Lipinets. For my money Taylor stops him.
Bakole looks good, but a work in progress. 18-24 months away from world title level.
Easton looks a fun fun fighter. Ready for domestic title challenges now.
I still don't quite rate Taylor in the Top 10 at 140 myself, so I definitely wouldn't call him the best in the world at 140 just yet, but he's an impressive young talent, and the future looks bright for him.
I look forward to seeing more of him, and I definitely think he's the best British fighter at 140. I'd favor him confidently over Jack Catterall.
I think he's in the top 10 now. With Crawford up at 147 and Mikey Garcia probably dropping back to 135, there's not many I'd pick over Taylor with much confidence. Postol maybe? Barthelemy is nothing special. Broner is a tit. Indongo is dangerous but was wide open for body punches against Crawford and Taylor is an excellent body puncher.
Taylor impressed me plenty on Saturday.....got cut, was not having it his own way and Vasquez was super-awkward with lots of tricky skills and (reaching inside the cliche box) was indeed a tough Mexican fighter who had absolutely no intention of bailing-out/grabbing the cheque.
Taylor did not get phased by being made to miss quite often (probably the first time as a pro) and stuck with his body shots despite the fact that Vasquez was seemingly unbothered at first ahd had a proud record of going the distance.
Also actually quite liked the fact that he largely worked it out for himself, he's not completely in the thrall of Shane and he kept close to his opponent at times and stuck with the body shots and did not just sit back and jab from distance.
Taylor has got something good and the McGuigan's will primarily earn their corn by timing his run just right.
