And especielly when the trainer is a bigger man and can absorb the blows , then its a set 4 , trainer moves and another set 3 or 4 ,, except in a fight it don't happen the opponent is moving and does'nt stand still , I watched Frampton and Jamie on pads , Thats where Frampton is learning to square up and lose his footwork , padwork with a smaller guy who is contiually moving , forward , backward and sideward , in out side to side , with jamie calling whats needed from the side is more the way to go ,,,

Suppose lots will disagree , but after 50 odd years of being involved in boxing i believe pads are the best tool available to a trainer , but only if used CORRECTLY
Makes a lot of sense. You have to be careful about what habits you form in training.

Though I think it was also just being undertrained.

Yeah. Weight training isn't beneficial to the kind of muscle needed to be effective at Boxing.
Look at Floyd Vs McGregor McGregor had nothing after 5/6 RDS to ripped isn't good for the stamina
That used to be the way of thinking for years but Holyfield changed a lot of peoples minds

Holyfield was a freak . some fighters can just do it , he built himself up ,, yet others were freakish in how they stripped down , perhaps the one for me who stands out in that regard would be Jeff Fenech , the weight that guy could strip off and still retain his strenght was nothing short of freakish

Yep. Even though the knockdown was a slip, you still have to score it a 10/8 and with that I had it a draw

I thought Frampton won by a point. Hopefully we can put this down to ring rust.

Also the talk of him moving up to SF needs to stop. He’s small for a FW, let alone the division above.
The big question for Team Frampton is whether they wait til summer for IBF or have a fight inbetween.
IMO he needs another warm up around Feb/March. Similar standard to Saturday’s opponent. Can’t risk the loss, with a huge payday on the horizon.

Conlan. Exciting fighter but isn’t world class. Struggles taking a bodyshot at S.Fly. Hopefully starts at domestic level at Bantam.

Ancajas is a good fighter. Needs a named world rated opponent now. Best time ever to be a super-Fly. Needs to jump on the Ferris wheel before it stops spinning.

Tete Just answered FW problems. Best way to get positive promotion for a avoided fighter. Is a viral 12 second KO.

Barnes, best I’ve seen him as a pro.
Carroll, finally has bad intentions on his punches.

Good nights boxing.
