Tony Bellew should just move on unless he intends for the Haye rematch to be his last fight altogether or something which is possible. It's liable to take another year before Haye is "healthy" again.

I’d actually fancy Bellew against Parker if he can keep some distance at first and get a bit of confidence.

Bellew is no Mayweather but he’s got good technique and a decent chin.

It’s a great fight and whatever happens Eddie, Bellew and AJ do well out of it.

I hate myself for it but I’d love to see Haye come back and actually fight and do Bellew to finish on a positive but even I know I’m kidding myself. He’s stealing a living by raising his profile without actually fighting. Bit gutting to keep getting sucked in by the shadow of his former self in the ring.

I agree with a lot of what you say but regarding the bit in bold - this is the first fight since his 'comeback' that he's pulled out of.

Haye seems to be one of those guys people hate for reasons seemingly opposite to one another. On the one hand - he pulls out of fights blaming dubious injury. On the other, he denies fans a fair shake because he fights injured.

It can't be both. If we look at the fights which didn't happen:

Fury X 2: Both seemingly legit, Haye having clearly incurred a bad cut and then stepped away from the sport following shoulder surgery.

Wlad: Haye of course pulled out of the first date, and I think the injury claim probably was nonsense. But, has it not pretty much been openly acknowledged that the terms of the contract dictated Haye would get UK TV rights, (which would have been decent), had Setanta not gone bust? I mean, I was annoyed it was delayed don't get me wrong, but the guy can't fight for nothing.

But, ultimately Haye put himself in big situations often in away-day fights and had a real good go. I find it hard to dislike the guy, regardless how his career panned out, bearing in mind he was hovering in the aftermath of an era when the best Britain had to offer didn't seem that keen, bar Hatton, of really testing themselves, and he really did take on the best there was at the time, in two weight classes, away from home.

It seems too early for it to be standing up to the rigours of boxing training so soon after repair surgery.

Perfect fight for Parker now.

Raises his profile as mentioned above, Bellew gets a final payday and then it’s all set for Joshua - Parker after. If Parker does a number on Bellew then it will help him with negotiations too with Joshua I suspect.

Fury? Be amazed if Bellew even replies to Fury’s call out. He plays up his wild man image, the man who’ll fight anything and anyone in or out the ring and all that jazz but I suspect he wants nothing at all to do with Fury!

I think there’s a few that would have enjoyed seeing the shell of Haye come back and show a glimpse of what he once had and switch Bellew off to right that wrong on his record, but it isn’t happening. He’s finished.

Parker knocks Bellew out imo. I think Parker would look impressive in the process too. Hughie stifled him but Hughie is far more awkward and elusive ( negative ) than Bellew is.

I reckon Haye's probably around 217 and had a target of 214 or so. He'll have the potential to beat Bellew for some time yet, but it's hard to see what's left for him afterwards. I'd still give him a 1-in-5 chance of beating Joshua, but also a 1-in-5 chance of getting through another camp uninjured, so 1-in-25 overall. And that's supposing it was signed in the first place. He might have Wilder in mind, but unless he absolutely smokes Bellew there won't be enough money to tempt him.
