fight over. barrera should win ud.i dont want to be one of those 'the commentary turned me againdt them' guy, but i didnt find barrera nearly as good ss hbo fid. hes big, hes strong, good mix of punches, but hes vulnerable. him vs bivol is more interesting than i thought.

by the way how bad is joe smith? even valeraacting like a clown did better.

on one hand, maybe losing to ward hurt kov mentally, on other hand, maybe it showed him he can be beat and needs to take things more seriously. there were questions about discipline.

i think its prob in betwern, i think hes no better or worse. ward is just very, very , very good. and kov is very good.

remember that confident, tough guy froch had his best run after losing to ward.kov may still have a lot left. ward is just a plain amazing fighter. hbo was upping barrera but compare how he dealt with shab.

although ive always thought adonis would ko kov and still do. but that never happens i bet and how old id don now

i didnt know that actually. broken jaws are tremendously painful and impair breathing. ill cut him some slack then, though maybe he had his mouth ooen when he shouldnt have?

He's had it broken before, likely it never healed properly in the first place. The first round of that fight was exciting as I recall, and Joe's jaw was broken in the second. He really shelled up after that but still finished the fight. He didn't engage, which made it a very boring affair. He's a very tough guy, had surgery less than a week later. I hope he gets back in there. Not a top class guy skill wise, but he's tough as they come and I'd like to see him make some money before he's done.

I want to see Bivol vs Barrera and Kovalev vs Beteribiev, Gvoozdyk has been very cautious with his career so far he needs to get in the mix..

Russians got 3 belts at 175 and should fight each other, as Stevenson will keep hiding.

btw i like the look of the division. lots of strong, hard hitters have emerged and are at the forefront. ward is too good for all of them and would spoil the fun party so im glad hes gone. look for marcus browne in the future too.

That is probably why he has been hiding for years from anybody with a pulse including Haymon stablemates. Beterbiev has the same adviser and had the same promoter, but wasn't even mentioned as an option.

Kovalev looked pretty spectacular against Shabranskyy. As good as he could've hoped for I'd say. Shabranskyy is usually a tougher out than that.

I was surprised at the decision in the Gamboa fight, and though I agreed Barrera deserved the UD against Valera I thought Valera did a little better than the official judges or Lederman gave him credit for.

If he could've done more he would've. He's been protected for a reason. Ward or Kovalev would've beaten him thoroughly, and Kovalev would still. I'd take Beterbiev, Dmitry Bivol and possibly Eleider Alvarez to beat him too.

I think he could take a Sullivan Barrera type.

The proposed fight between Adonis Stevenson and Badou Jack is a toss up.
