Beterbiev wasn't given choices which is why he is leaving his promoter. He should also leave Haymon who prevented him from fighting Kovalev.jamamb wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 01:49berterbiev hasnt fought anyone with a pulse lately. he must be afraid.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 01:47That is probably why he has been hiding for years from anybody with a pulse including Haymon stablemates. Yea Shabransky was built to be beat by Kovalev, But Kovalev had to come in organized and he appeared that. I think I even saw a him throw a new punch that I never saw him throw before a little right hand shovel punch to the body, which tells me maybe his new trainer is helping him improve. We have a long way to in the Kovalev narrative but he has for the moment bounced back from defeat well.gilgamesh wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 01:50 Kovalev looked pretty spectacular against Shabranskyy. As good as he could've hoped for I'd say. Shabranskyy is usually a tougher out than that.
I was surprised at the decision in the Gamboa fight, and though I agreed Barrera deserved the UD against Valera I thought Valera did a little better than the official judges or Lederman gave him credit for.

I don't know all of Beterbiev promotional stuff which I am sure along with injury stymied his career but I get the feeling he is coming out of hiding now.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 01:54Beterbiev wasn't given choices which is why he is leaving his promoter. didnt bert also turn down a kov fight?
Re: Kovalev vs Shebransky Sat. 25 Nov 2017
This fight was Kovalev's message to Ward, Jackson, and Weeks.. "Up yours you worthless pieces of shitt." I'm sure he was seeing Ward while he was punching Shebranskyy.. I think he would have finished Ward just as fast as Shebranskyy now that he's rid of that Judas chief trainer, Jackson, who was doing everything in his power to get Kovalev beaten by Ward..jamamb wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 01:18 remember that confident, tough guy froch had his best run after losing to ward.kov may still have a lot left. ward is just a plain amazing fighter. hbo was upping barrera but compare how he dealt with shab.
although ive always thought adonis would ko kov and still do. but that never happens i bet and how old id don now
That filthy coward Chickenson has been ducking Kovalev forever... There is no way he's going anywhere close to him now.

What a performance from the Krusher tonight. Anyone with anything negative to say about that beating is a hater. It must be very difficult to come back to the ring after two difficult fights like Serge had. He’s still got it.

Who cares what you think Jackass. Post some more meaningless nonsense with poor punctuation. Yawn

I agree, pretty perfect comeback if you ask me.

Who's crying? -- Maybe Ward whose boring ass is outta here -- and Chickenson, who has to reach lower and lower for opponents he can beat.Tanzio wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 02:03Kalan was born to cry.Kalan wrote: ↑26 Nov 2017, 02:00This fight was Kovalev's message to Ward, Jackson, and Weeks.. I'm sorry, but Vyacheslav Shabranskyy was not considered anywhere near one of the top ten 175lb-ers in the division when his fight against Kovalev was announced.
Everyone knew that Kovalev's latest bout was simply a mismatch, merely a publicity stunt, so the result was expected by just about every single follower of the sport.
Re: Kovalev vs Shebransky Sat. 25 Nov 2017
true though most predictions ive seen had the stoppage coming several rounds later. kov certainly did him better than barrera

Re: Kovalev vs Shebransky Sat. 25 Nov 2017
I felt the speed at which the KO would come would always be dependent on Kovalev's approach.
I thought that Krusher was always capable of disposing Vyacheslav Shabranskyy whenever he wanted, but may have taken his time, by scoring the stoppage during the middle rounds, as he may have tried to adapt his style by implementing and testing out some of the valuable lessons he learned against Andre Ward, but he didn't... he chose to decimate his opponent instead.
The fight was a mismatch and nobody was more vocal about this than me when the contest was initially announced.
I laboured over the point about Vyacheslav Shabranskyy not being a world-rated fighter that should not be challenging for a world title.
It was a decent confidence building type of fight for Krusher, so I appreciate that it served its purpose, but let's not get too carried away in our evaluation of Kovalev's performance.
He only did what he was universally expected to do.
Re: Kovalev vs Shebransky Sat. 25 Nov 2017
i dont think he was universally expected to win so quickly, regardless of the approach. but i dont think its anything amazing considering the opponent, but still kovalev looked no less sharp than normal imo.clearly bigger gap btwn him and shab and top contender barrera and shab. i think some ppl are eager for him to be 'broken'.
will be interesting watching going forward, if he indeed is more vulnerable for losing twice to atg, p4p #1.we can also speculate about him getting better by taking things more seriously.my take is hes prob no better or worse.

Re: Kovalev vs Shebransky Sat. 25 Nov 2017
Much like the Jelly of the Month Club, Kalan's incessant whining and inability to handle reality is the gift that keeps on giving the whole year. I'm suprised wind speed and magnetic shift in the poles haven't made it onto the list yet. Those were blatantly Ward's fault too, I'm sure. Santa is definitely going to hear about how grateful I am that the knockout loss to Ward is going to haunt this chud until the end of time.
Re: Kovalev vs Shebransky Sat. 25 Nov 2017
To the Kovalev nut huggers, it was a nice KO but Shebransky isn't that great. Sheb got KOd by Barrera, who couldn't find Ward.

Pretty good Analysis, although Shebransky did knock down Barrera and we know how kovalev did against Ward.
