OK maybe my bias has changed my memory. I'll watch it again I remember thinking Froch outclassed him in all areas and it was a matter of time until he kod him

cant wait for eubank to make a statement. love the way he throws every powershot and puts together those combos.hes stepping up but hes not the totally inexperienced guy he was vs bjs. loads of natural talent. wish he wouldve taken that ggg fight
Re: George Groves vs. Chris Eubank Jr - 17 February 2018
Groves was definitely ahead at the time of the stoppage. But it was a poor fight. Never watched it back.
The first was a classic though.
Re: George Groves vs. Chris Eubank Jr - 17 February 2018
Really undecided.
Two years ago I would have said Groves all day long. I just think Eubank is peaking and looking to make a statement where Groves has achieved his ambition of a world title and did get a bit too involved in his last couple of fights.
However Yildrim was made for him and so has everyone else he has faced since Saunders. This is the true test to see if he has improved from that loss.

Anybody still think eubank is going to pull out of his biggest payday? Odd how many did.
Re: George Groves vs. Chris Eubank Jr - 17 February 2018
yes i agree, good test to see how he handles a different style, one more similar to the guy who beat him. though i think eubank was really inexpeirenced there. had not much amateur career (like 20 fights?) and had fought no one as a pro. bjs was an olympian, 100+ amateur fights, already brit and ebu champ. for that fight to be a really close sd is indicative of eubanks talent and greater potential.Naandrew wrote: ↑27 Nov 2017, 16:34 Really undecided.

I completely agree.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 20:11You may have a point there, I'd say the Groves who fought Jack was technically a clear couple of steps ahead of the one who fought Anderson or maybe Frochjamamb wrote: ↑23 Nov 2017, 20:01 ppl have a really strange sense of how groves was before froch. he really wasnt much different. its lazy commentary really.just assuming those fights took it out of him. theres good reason froch was a big big favourite first time and degale was a large favourite. groves wasnt looking much better then at all. in fact he had that scare vs anderson and could look really sloppy at times.he also faded vs degale, before the froch fights.
i think hes actually tightened up his boxing.
To me the difference now is he has lost something in the snap/timing of his offence, could be as James McDonnell says loss of confidence in his offence, I don't know I just intuit that his punches haven't got quite the same pizzazz.
And I think he fights with more concern since the froch episode. A little more anxious.

Decent poll.. i call it a 50/50..
Wondering if Groves has still got the motivation.. he's done what he wanted (wom a world title)..
Eubank is reaching his peak IMO.. it's about who wants it more..

I wouldn’t necessarily say I actively think Eubank Jr will pull out. But I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he does.SaadOffTheDeck wrote: ↑27 Nov 2017, 17:30 Anybody still think eubank is going to pull out of his biggest payday? Odd how many did.

It seems to me that Eubank really want this fight with Groves. I doubt he will pull out.
Does anyone know what happens to his belt if he does?
Is it regular governing bodies rules regarding the belt?
I was under the impression that the winner of the WBSS gets all the trinkets and the cup.

Re: George Groves vs. Chris Eubank Jr - 17 February 2018
So do I but I think he's been getting away with it
I think Groves will make him pay for being so aggressive, open and active.
Although I think Eubank might surprise us and take this into account with his strategy.
I've got Groves winning this but not comfortably. Eubanks durability and engine could play a factor

If he was going to pull out it would have been before the official announcement.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑27 Nov 2017, 19:28I wouldn’t necessarily say I actively think Eubank Jr will pull out. It's his biggest payday. If he wins, he gets an even bigger payday.. Why pull out. Boxing is about making money too, fighting the best. This is a big domestic fight. ITV Box Office will definitely see some record buys for this one.

Well, I've got Christmas to sort, then I'm off to Auschwitz in January, all sober, so I'm going to get smashed in Manchester. 15 wreckheads so far booked on.
