Re: Bobby Dunne & Paul Briggs into Hall of Fame
Congratulations to both men. I haven't heard of Dunne, but the Brigg's story is an inspiring one, and he was an absolute warrior.
Re: Bobby Dunne & Paul Briggs into Hall of Fame
I remember Bobby Dunn, terrific fighter in an era where we had some outstanding local fighters.
Re: Bobby Dunne & Paul Briggs into Hall of Fame
Briggs' dive against Danny Green should've disqualified him from ever being considered for any sort of Hall of Fame in my opinion. Even one like this that won't get much attention. He got his dirty money as a reward.
Re: Bobby Dunne & Paul Briggs into Hall of Fame
he didnt dive green just has one of the hardest jabs ever. so they say,
Re: Bobby Dunne & Paul Briggs into Hall of Fame
As opposed to Green's career after his first retirement...

Re: Bobby Dunne & Paul Briggs into Hall of Fame
Every member of this photo is now a member of the Australian Boxing Hall Of Fame.

Re: Bobby Dunne & Paul Briggs into Hall of Fame
I'm sure it's a bit of an optical illusion but Dunne looks closer to Charkey's size than Paul's.
Re: Bobby Dunne & Paul Briggs into Hall of Fame
Charkey was not very tall. I trained at the same gym, I was about 5'11" at that time and he was a couple of inches shorter than I was.
Re: Bobby Dunne & Paul Briggs into Hall of Fame
Well there you go. I always had the impression he was quite tall.
