I hope to god W@rren didn't sign DeGale to a ridiculously expensive long term contract...
He didn’t - it was 1 fight then talk.

That’s why he was so honest.
DeGales stock has plummeted tonight. He doesn't have a title and isn't a big ticket seller.

Maybe return with the Sauerlands? Fight Abraham in Germany then attempt to take the WBA 'Regular' from Zeuge?

coming off a loss, cant see that happening.
Maybe face Hart (4), Gavril (5) or Yildrim (10) then go for a title shot...

Not surprised by this in the slightest.

He looked shopworn in the Medina fight and his attitude has seemed off for the same amount of time too.

He should have a soft comeback fight then challenge the loser of Groves Eubank.

Let's face it. Degale has never been that good and has always been overrated. Great win against Dirrell, but then he had a war with Bute who let's face it, has been mediocre since Froch destroyed him, struggled and looked shite against Medina who is a gate keeper, drew against Jack (a decent performance against a solid fighter to his credit) and now has lost to a gatekeeper.

He's got talent but he's lazy, arrogant, complacent, lacks heart and struggles against fighters he should be dominating.

That tendency to retreat to the ropes was always going to be his undoing someday. Its seems to be more pronounced when he's in against fighters he's expected to beat easily, like he switches off mentally. Remember years ago on channel 5, cant recall which fight though, degale started off sharp - throwing great fast combinations but mid rounds he just sat there getting pummelled, I thought he could have lost that fight. Got to be honest, I've never liked him since the groves fight.

If he is to fight again, it's a big rebuilding job as that defeat would have really hurt.

Just watched it back again. Round 5, what was he thinking he was actually calling truax forward trying to coax him in, then did nothing. Very strange, no wonder warren called out his tactics.

Funny thing is, if there is a rematch clause its a bigger fight now, bit of a win for Frank.

Hard to argue against all that. For flashes he looks brilliant but time and time again he can't sustain it.

If I've got it right it was the fight he had after losing to Groves, against a Polish fella.

Yep, Wilceswki was it? Chunky looked bazzing for about five rounds then started getting pushed around & seemingly couldn't get away from punches or do anything about a guy plodding to him.

He looked like that from about the second round onwards on Saturday.

Though it was nice to see the much-underemployed "10-8 round without a knockdown" being used, if only by one judge. That fifth was as one-sided as you can get, IMO. A lot of "away" fighters would get stopped in a British ring for taking that much stick & seemingly being in so much physical distress.
