I could see Tyson returning early next year against someone like Sam Sexton to shake the ring rust off onto say BJ Flores (WBA#9) and then facing Manuel Charr for the WBA 'Regular' in the summer...

Not only do you restart stupid polls and change thread titles but you also talk a load of bollox. Are you new to the sport? Those three fights are just crap and would not interest anyone. Fair enough Sexton to kick off after three years out but the next two? A cruiserweight who got blown out by Bellew? Then as the third fight Charr? He needs a couple warm ups for Charr? Give me strength! Or get this idiot off the forum.

If they send him after the WBA Regularly Interim belt or whatever maybe.

It's possible he could beat a Joseph Parker by the end of the year too if he gets back in shape early in the year.

I don't think he'll ever be in a position to beat Joshua or Wilder for the rest of his days. That ship has sailed, and frankly I'm not sure he would've ever beaten those guys anyway.

Parker will have lost his belt by the time Fury is ready to get in the title hunt I would imagine.
Fury vs. Joshua will be a summer 2019 fight at Wembley I reckon...

Yeah there's a good chance either Wilder, Joshua or Povetkin or somebody like that will have gotten to Joshua before Fury ever gets the chance to.

Fury vs Joshua won't be a big deal to me when it happens, but it'll be nice to see the fat joke finally put in his place...on the canvas.

Fury boxes rings round the lot of them. Starting with Mr. Charr the WBA 'Regular' King in the summer next year :TU:

Fury doesn't have a chance against Wilder or Joshua in my view. They're big punchers, and they ain't coming to stare at him, they're coming to knock him out.

He might've had a chance if he didn't become morbidly obese, and dive into a pile of Cocaine for years, but I don't think he's ever gonna be back to what he once was as a result of all that (and he never was much to begin with)

He'd beat Charr, but hell...Charr isn't Top 30 so who cares?

We can debate all day long Fury vs. Joshua etc.
The fact is he will be back in the ring in 2018 and working his way toward Joshua.
Charr and his belt are worthless, he's potentially a stepping stone in Tysons journey back to the top, that is all...

Technically speaking, Tyson Fury is already gonna be the defending Champion anyway. He never got beat for the title.

He has the Lineal one. That one can only be taken away in the ring. The rest of 'em are just paper titles essentially. Now granted the significance of the Lineal Title is severely diminished when you have a guy like Fury that has thoroughly disgraced the title, but he still technically holds it.

Jess Willard didn't defend his title for 4 years, but when he did he was still the Heavyweight Champion.

Being Heavyweight Champion isn't something a guy with a pen and a piece of paper can take away from you. A fighter has to take it from you by force.

I cannot wait for the Gypsy King to hold the WBA 'Regular' HW Title.

It'd be one of the weakest 1st defenses of the Lineal Heavyweight crown in the sports history if that's what you mean by "one for the ages".

The WBA Title in question means less than nothing.

It's guys paying a sanctioning fee for a title that has no value in the eyes of Boxing fans anywhere.

If I was Tyson I wouldn't jump straight in with Charr.
He needs a couple of easy fights to get the rust off. Sexton for me is the ideal return fight. Maybe Lenroy Thomas. I suggested BJ Flores earlier as another rust-shaker before Charr. All depends how often he wants to fight.
Come Christmas next year he should have had at least 3 fights and be ready for whoever in 2019.
Co-main in Manchester to Flangan/Hooker, co-main in Belfast to Frampton. W@rren has got the schedule to keep the big man busy next year...

Charr ain't sh*t. Charr's not even a Top 30 Heavyweight. If Fury can't handle Charr, he might as well just stay retired and get fatter because he can't handle anybody.

The thing that wins him fights is his height and obviously using it well even against Wlad.
I remember looking at the ratings as Fury was on the way up and realised they had picked the shortest heavys out of the bunch going through the top 20 at the time.
Is he much taller than Joshua? I know they are both giants
3 inches taller, 3 inch reach advantage. So not really.
Three inches is a great advantage if you have a stance, footwork, jab, and great timing... If you don't have skills forget it... A top notch boxer like Duran will finesse an 8 inch reach advantage like he did with Iran Barkley... He really had to work hard... Duran couldn't deal with Hearns' much longer 12” advantage – but Barkley could deal with Hearns fine... Boxing is freaky the way people match up.

I boxed with a big, athletic guy 6'7" with an 86" each and another much better and way higher ranked boxer who was 6'3" with an 81 inch reach... I loved sparring the more skilled guy. His reach was the same and I could easily jab him at a range he couldn't jab me... Maybe because I was a bit taller and had an edge in timing and footwork I thought.. I could easily get follow up shots on him... I tried to take it really easy so he would continue boxing with me.. I hated boxing the big, tall guy. So did everyone else it seemed.. I pretended it was a piece of cake for me and smiled and joked around a lot with him...but inside I was relaxing and concentrating like a madman because I didn't want to get hit by this guy.

The problems with Fury are his work ethic, discipline, and his mental health situation.. You're not going to be the best Heavyweight in the world, regardless of your talent, if you don't work hard at it, and you throw years away doing nothing... You see guys like Tyson Fury, Buster Douglas, Buster Mathis, Tim Witherspoon, Ike Ibeabuchi, Gerry Cooney, and so many other talented guys… Guys who did more to sabotage their own careers than anybody else could possibly do.

The chances of a guy going off the reservation for a couple years, to somehow find his way back – and the will to follow a strict diet and nutrition plan, and get his body back into the shape necessary to compete at the world level – that is not generally going to happen unless he solves his personal problems that made him behave badly – and those are complex issues so you just don’t see it happen very often – but it’s not out of the realm of the possible.

George Foreman had issues that it took him 10 years to deal with.. When he came back his self-belief was stronger than ever.. He felt he knew exactly where he went wrong in his 1st career and exactly what he needed to do to correct it.

i dont think furys really a full 3 inches taller than aj. height is overrated anyway. ppl make way too big of deal out of a couple inches. a few inches is more a superficial visual thing.

A 3" or more reach advantage is not a superficial or visual thing... Depending on a guys talent and his skills - an advantage of 3 inches in height and reach means a punch in the face where a punch would miss.... and it means missing a punch when your punch would normally connect... So it means your stance, balance, footwork, jab, timing, and accuracy have to be degrees better than an opponent your size - for you to have a chance of out-boxing him...

Unless of course you're physically bigger, stronger, and tougher than your opponent... You don't have to out-reach him... You can cut off the ring, walk him down, corner him, put him on the ropes, close the distance, and beat the Hell out of him.

But if you're way smaller, shorter, shorter armed, and give up physical strength as well - and your skill level isn't a massive amount better... what can you do??? ... You have Roberto Duran's situation versus Tommy Hearns... Or Floyd Patterson's against Sonny Liston... Or Joe Frazier's against George Foreman.... Fukking Hopeless!!!
