sometimes you have to "overpay" to get something you want.
There are 4 Heavyweight World Titles and AJ already holds 2 of them, if he wants to add anymore to his collection he will have to pay for them. Its supply and demand.
Once he holds all 4 belts nobody can dictate anything to him, he will be paying mandatory fees nothing more.
He just has to believe he can win all 4.

Then put popularity and business aside just look at their resumes. Breazale is arguably better than anyone Wilder has fought.
:TU:
I doubt the fight gets made next year. Or something happens after it is signed like a failed test it Wilder gets injured. I just can't see the two of them.in the ring. Wilder is all talk.
Brazeale is better than anyone Wilder has fought. It will be three years soon, since Wilder won the belt and still no meaningful fights, just talk.

asking 2 "random" people on the street if they "know who Deontay Wilder is" sums up the purse split for you?

There’s another one where he asks quite a few people but I did I’d think put that up because it’s too long- but as he said in this vid, could ask all day and there wouldent be many who would know.
Any how AJ and Hearn are in the driving seat andif Wilder is confident he would take the biggest paydAy he ever got

UK Population approx.65million
US Population approx.323million

100% UK is less than 20% US.
Hearn can ask all day, it doesn't really mean anything...

Well if he’d asked whoMike Tyson was then I bet most would have known- so it does mean something- it means wilder is not a big name to the general public

One man comes to the ring putting (probably) 3 Heavyweight titles on the line... The other man enters with a single strap.
It's hardly going to be on equal terms, considering they are both taking different risks, one stands to lose much more than the other...
SAPFO wrote: 14 Dec 2017, 11:44Fury vs AJ won’t register out of the UK.
Who are you kidding? The Germans have a big interest in Heavyweight boxing ever since the Klitchskos used to have sellouts in their country. And The Russians always have an interest in the Heavyweight scene (with Povetkin) - do you really think they would let a AJ V Fury fight happen without buying coverage for it?

Absolute nonsense.
Alright Mr Angry, how much revenue does terrestrial German & Russian TV generate for a UK domestic world title fight? Of course it will be shown around the world, but the revenue it generates wont be on par with 1 domestic UK Premier League game.

But maybe I should have said 'barely register' in hindsight.

Deontay Wilder being less well known than Mike Tyson means he doesn't deserve a decent sized cut of a future purse with Joshua?

Where did I say he dident deserve a decent slice? The thread is about a 50/50 cut which he is not going to get.

Whatever Eddie thinks best- no seriously I’m guessing they will work up to about 35% after more negotiating

No it didn't. It blames all parties. I think i said this is what i hate about boxing.

That is ok saying over pay for wilder, then it becomes overpay for parker, then fury will want more, and so on. At some point AJ will have to accept that wilder will want more than 35% & wilder will have to accept that he doesn't bring anything to the tablr for 50%.

Wilder if he wants 50% should be trying tp beat AJ in getting the parker fight.

You talk of the population of the US.

But let's look at fight attendances.

AJ v Takam - millenium stadium 75k
Wilder v stiverne - the barclays centre

AJ v wlad - wembley 90k
wilder v washington 19k

So AJ is the bigger draw and i bet if they went to vegas, the crowd would be very British

Bith wilder & parker should get no higher than 40%
But what annoys me most about these 2. It is the money that is holding the fight up.
You were clearly trying to blame everybody bar Joshua for these fights not getting made. :shame:

Parker will get 33.3%, Wilder will settle for about 38% and Fury will get around 42%.
WBO > WBC > Lineal.
If he wants the titles he will have to pay more than he is paying his mandatories, its simple.

don't over estimate AJs fan base. He is the king of the casual market in the UK right now but to drag a load of fans across the pond takes more of a connection than what Joshua has...

While true , AJ attracts the far bigger crowds , you cannot dismiss what Vegas would pay to hold it there , and in any case , on the other hand, would AJ be allowed in the states

One of the reasons boxing isn't as good a sport as it could be. They should be made to fight or lose the belts and get banned.

Wilder is seen by many right now as the only other legit World Champion. He's undefeated & has an impressive string of KO's, yeah you can try & discredit his opponents but if you take Wlad off AJ's resume neither boxer has much to shout about.

This is a fight that will make everyone involved a ton of money so seems a shame to be haggling so much. People are saying that if Wilder was confident he'd fight for less, but the same argument must then be laid on Hearn & AJ.

Remember that whilst Parker has few options Wilder can stay in America & score yet more KO's for decent paydays. Also he might even be able to tempt Fury over if Hearn continues to play hard ball with the fighters over percentages.

I think this is just Hearn using the percentages as an excuse not to make certain fights he sees as dangerous. Good chance Wilder sparks AJ & Tyson makes a mug of him.

Agree with that, moogie.

I'd go public with a 60:40 offer to the winner. They both currently represent the biggest challenge for each other, and I'm not too bothered about neither having the WBO.

Not sure why people are so confident of Wilder's ability. Personally don't think he would last more than a couple rounds and will be stopped in brutal fashion. He will be lucky to land anything of note.

I'm not sure why people are so confident in aj's ability. Hurt badly by an aging Wlad , hurt badly by Dylan who hasn't shown impressive power since.

Wilder if he lands certainly has the power to screw up all of Hearn's plans.

Wilder has been hurt plenty of times himself, not to mention he has lost a lot of rounds in his fights against fairly weak opposition.

People mention Wlad, but Wilder hasn't fought anyone in that league, AJ did and he won.

Wlad also had to climb off the canvass before he hurt AJ, would Wilder manage to get up from the shots that put Wlad down?

I'm not saying AJ is the next Lewis, far from it, but he is a level above Wilder who has power but very little else.

Yeah, pretty much this. There's a section of the board who are firmly in the Anyone-But-AJ camp though.

Wilder can hit, and that makes him a live underdog imo, but his footwork is poor, his technique is questionable, he's ungainly AF, and he looks fragile. AJ is no ATG, but he moves alright for a big lad, hits like a train, and has proven heart and grit.

He also wasn't 'hurt badly' against Whyte. Anyone who says that reveals their obvious agenda.

Wilder has the X factor. He is unpredictable, hard hitting and unconventional. He can throw straight punches, but he can wildly windmill his arms until he hits something. He is the epitome of "let your hands go".
All of that is very hard to defend against.
Yea he has a dubious record, yes he can be easy to hit and moves a bit sluggishly, and yes his chin is suspect. Until Wilder proves himself you can't predict how he will perform at the B level.
