I have to say I found Terry ( Ticker ) Mitchell to be an ok guy, who I certainly never heard took liberties with folks. He wasn't a big drinker either preferring to drink soft drinks most of the time, so he could be up to do road work before going to his job which was working for a slot machine company. However a truly dangerous guy was his mate Brian Isman.
Someone mentioned Kevin Paddock earlier. He and his wife live mainly in a little Spanish village, as do I, in Alicante province, with Kev going back to Southampton do some cab driving when necessary. And yeah, he did fight McLean, and Roy Shaw after leaving the pro ranks.

And that Neil Malpass fella, the one who beat the two bareknuckledraggers Fury and Sykes, so of course that means I can beat Fury and Sykes, and also means that I can beat Fury's son Tyson who is still recognised as the linear and ring magazine heavyweight champion of the world, so that makes me that aswel ! Good day knuckleheads![]()

Re: Paul Sykes v Lenny McLean
There's actually a story going around about 'Big John Fury' that I have been accused of being the originator of, it goes like this.....John Fury (nee Partridge) was down his local gym doing a bit of 'light sparring' (well it was supposed to be light !) with one of the lesser regarded younger heavyweights, John was soon in his stride and started taking a few liberties with the young fella, below the belt, rabbit punch, the lot, and the young fella suddenly saw 'Fury' and fought back hard and fast as though he were fighting for an area title, he literally hit Big John Fury from pillar to post for the remainder of the first round, Big John suddenly took his gum shield out and made up some excuse of having to stick to a timetable for his dietary needs at the local steak house that he was running late for, but promised the young lad that he wasn't finished by a country mile, and that he expected him back same time same place the next day, the lad followed John into the shower and said "We can finish it here, no need to wait until the next day !" To which John bellowed "Do you know who I am ??? I'm the best man in the countryside !!!" There ensued a bit of a tussle, with an already out of breath and overweight John Fury throwing a heavy handed right cross, and falling forward with the momentum, unable to stop the inevitable, John's big round head cracked a good number of the ceramic tiles at the base of the shower wall, the younger fella could have ended it there, but being honorable felt it wasn't the way in which he wanted to beat Mr Fury, however he followed him out to the carpark where Fury was about to jump into his white Ford Transit, he told John he held no hard feelings, and offered to drive John to the hospital to get his head checked out, "you shouldn't be driving in that state John, here, I'll drive you in my car" to which John was absolutely FURYus, he responded "And what state might that be ??? The state I had you in the ring ??? Oh boy you were lucky that right cross didn't land on the point of your chin !!!" "Right" said the young lad, "traditional all in bareknuckle rules in this carpark NOW !!!" John held his head and feigned pain, and then made up some excuse of needing to go to the hospital after all, but instead to visit his pregnant wife who was due to be having his babie, hoisted his large frame into the drivers seat of his Transit, and tires screeching set off in the direction of the hospital, he did not show his face in that gym ever again...

Aye the Carrefour? Some place. I stayed up near the mountains for a month once. Nice rural place. I found the black cement factories interestinggolden oldie wrote: ↑05 Dec 2017, 18:23Once!!! under sufferance. In fact where I am, Charlie Big Spud Brits who think they can intimidate the locals with their 200,000 square meter plots with the 8 bedroom, 5 bathroom Finca's, get totally, and utterly BLANKED.
I went up a few of the mountains, it’s really a nice place. I don’t know anyone with a finca like that. Being honest I’d love to live up there.

I'll cut it short, Sykes would have won inside of thirty seconds. He was one of Frazier's sparring partners for Bugner ffs. He had such a deep amateur career before ever turning professional.
McLean was mainly a fiction. His career on the unlicensed circuit was a mix of fixed fights and beating older, smaller men. He was knocked out legitimately by guys like Kevin Paddock, Johnny Waldron and Cliff Fields inside of one round.
Fields was probably the best man on the unlicensed circuit, but even he came up short against Richard Dunn (kayo 4) and Fields was half blind and considered washed up as a pro well before then.
Sykes probably would have beaten Fields, so that shows McLean had no business fighting him period.
