what impresses me is for someone that bulky and with limited amateur experience he seems very relaxed and his punches go fluidly rather than tightly. late start in boxing + bulky is one of the 'worst' combos for guys looking up tight. yarde seems very much a natural.

ya hes beaten a lot of bums but the last guy was a durable vet whod drawn for the 175 ebu just a fight before so that imo pushes yarde up to the next level . would like to see him continuing with that gradual stepping up.

btw he doesnt at all look like chris keane does he

Interesting... Karo Murat is EBU champ.

At first wondered how Yarde would be eligible; the latest ranking up on the EBU site (for November) doesn't rank him. But then realised with his last win, he will be top 3; Nikola Sjekloca was ranked 3, and Yarde won convincingly.

I understand they've matched Yarde carefully (and wisely) so far given his lack of amateur experience; but a real shame if he continues to avoid challenging for the British title.

karo murats better than buglioni imo. just stopped a decent 24-0 prospect last fight and has been around the top 20 for years, with plenty of experience vs top lhws. second to last fight also stopped a guy who took bivol the distance right after.

no doubt hes legit euro level at 175. i cant really buy that buglioni and burton are any better than murat.burton has lost to every lhw hes faced whose better than miles shinkwin.

id be very pleased with yarde vs murat for the ebu. it would mean in his last 2 hes moved ahead a lot with the opponents

Murat isn't very good, Yarde would destroy him. It would be a good fight to make though, Frank shouldn't be worried about that.

OK he is listed on boxrec as 6" but I am sure someone said he was 5"9 which is more what he looks. strong guy though for sure

Are you thinking of Joshua Buatsi?

I'd say that anywhere around 6' is ideal at 175, because that's bang in the middle of the common range. It's tall enough for cruiser if you have the natural size (The Cat's a great example).

Well I've pretty much exhausted what I can see of him fighting.
And I don't see anything more than a guy with power.
He gets hit easily by absolute tomato cans when they do decide to hit back.
LHW has some very decent fighters a huge level above what he is showing right now. Early day though, but he isn't going to learn anything until they put a live opponent in front of him. Then maybe we will see where he is at.

him getting hit easily is totally overblown, ppl said it about him vs averlant but averlant hardly landed a clean shot, was missing vast majority and what he did land was grazing due to yardes head mivement. i do wonder though if yarde should bevdefending with his hands so low and simply rolling, as he does now

and its strange how ppl talk of guys like skejoca (drew for 175 ebu title right before) and averlant like cans, but then talk up guys like burton and buglioni like theyve won vs much better opponents in many great tests

Yeah his last two fights were against solid enough opponents, but neither were punchers.

It will be interesting to see if he adopts a more cautious style when facing someone with a bit of power.

It's a shame we probably won't see him in with the Buglioni/Johnson winner.

He's looked the part so far, but then he should do against such limited & often undersized opponents. He often looks a couple of weight classes above who he's facing.

But eventually even the cautious Warren will have to test him & I think he'll come a cropper at his first legit opponent & not sure how someone so confident will handle a loss.
