I can't see the other top welters talking with interest about Spence. It is almost like he isn't a champion in their division. Porter, Thurman, Garcia and Vargas, they only want to fight each other but without Spence in their mix ?! The big problem with Spence it is he's only 28 y/o. I hope Spence is gonna stay active and fight the best available opponents.

If Porter, Thurman and Garcia want to play a 3-way.. Then yeh, I hope Spence does fight the next best opponents available.

Another difference is Spence has the same adviser/manager as the guys he wants to fight so I believe he will get to fight them some time down the line.apollo creed wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 07:34 I can't see the other top welters talking with interest about Spence. I would like to see Spence moving up at LMW, as soon as possible. I think it is the optimal weight division for him.apollo creed wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 07:34 I can't see the other top welters talking with interest about Spence. With all the huge money making potential matchups at 147?ValMar wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 11:46I would like to see Spence moving up at LMW, as soon as possible. Why would he?
Welterweight is boxing's glamour division. Many of the 147 pounders have become marketable mainstream stars thru television exposure.
Possible showdowns with Garcia, Porter, Thurman and even Crawford promise huge paydays for Spence.
That kind of money doesn't exist at 154 now that Canelo is gone.

The worthy opponents avoid Spence at WW, and I doubt it will change soon.SenorPipino wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 13:39With all the huge money making potential matchups at 147?ValMar wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 11:46I would like to see Spence moving up at LMW, as soon as possible. Spence is too big for WW, and I think he will not be capable to make 147 (let us say 2020) easily (I suppose, but I am not sure, of course).
The big money will come, I agree that just now WW is much more lucrative division, but it might be quite different in the near future.

Yes, Uncle Al will force those fights. He likes money too.
I would expect Spence to meet either Porter or Garcia by years end despite their reluctance.
It would be nice if Spence fought 3 times in 2018 and opposed both Porter and Garcia.
Especially if he has that ho-hum matchup with Ocampo in June.

The situation is completely different, but there is one similarity, which relates to the following coincidence...apollo creed wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 07:34Errol Spence Jr - in the same situation that GGG was before he got the big fights but with the TIME on his side!
K2 and HBO never attempted to make bouts between GGG and his big name peers. They insisted on waiting for offers being made to them rather than proactively initiating contract negotiations with to those parties instead.
Similarly, none of Errol Spence Jr's representatives have ever submitted any sort of offers to the likes of Crawford, Thurman, Porter, Garcia etc. It simply hasn't happened.
If you don't believe me, then double-check these facts for yourself.

Haymon lines up those fights, and its hard to make an offer when they don't return the phone calls.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 17:27The situation is completely different, but there is one similarity, which relates to the following coincidence...apollo creed wrote: ↑24 Feb 2018, 07:34Errol Spence Jr - in the same situation that GGG was before he got the big fights but with the TIME on his side!

Be honest, you know I'm right, but you just don't want to admit it, so you make stuff up to avoid conceding facts that don't adhere to your preferred narrative.
Re: Errol Spence Jr - in the same situation that GGG was before he got the big fights but with the TIME on his side!
I'm simply going by what Spence said. When interviewed, Thurman has said Spence isn't on his to do list. Porter said he was going the WBC route, and Danny Garcia only recently said he would fight Spence. He said Peterson was the only top guy they contacted that wanted the fight.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑25 Feb 2018, 00:18What phone calls? Can you "prove" that no representatives of Spence have submitted any offers to other fighters? As usual, you are an idiot on the forum that simply gets a charge out of playing the devil's advocate. You should try once to discuss who your favorite boxers are, why they won or lost, who you think is the best, etc. All you do is post links from shitt we can read ourselves, and demand people to prove what they say. When wrong, you never admit it. You once even claimed that a verbal agreement in the UK is legally binding for a contract.

Insulting me won't change the events that actually occurred in the real world. You cannot pretend that something happened when it clearly hasn't.

Well, I don't really have to pay, but I do it (as RandomUserName smartly realizes) because I'm one of those moron cheerleaders. I wish I was important enough to clean their dressing rooms but I'm not allowed in.

EO, since insulting you won't work, how about proving that no contact has ever been sent by team Spence to any opponents? You will have trouble with that, I'm sure. Only come back when you have proof.
By the way, what you think is insulting, is only honest feelings based on facts from not only me, but many others that frequent this site. You are careful enough to not get banned again like you have before is the only difference. The mods have either loosened their criteria for banning, or maybe just tired of banning you.
