Doesn’t have the backing financially or in popularity to overcome domestic violence the way Mayweather did
Yeah Franks a bit of a moral crusader like that, and he only takes on lads who were choirboys and don’t have so much as a parking ticket.
No idea how he views men who threaten and knock women about. There are other boxers with similar issues working so it does go on, but what’s in it for a promoter when the man doesn’t draw a crowd?
The point I was as making is that if he did/does sell tickets then a promoter will take him on regardless of anything else.

Glad that Clark won last night, looked good in the process.. Barrett was totally unproven & it showed in the contest, how anyone can say he will be world champion is talking utter bollox, he won't win a British title let alone a world belt...

He looked like has enough potential to win a British title.

He certainly doesn't look like a world title level prospect though.

Let’s not get carried away with world titles etc.
He beat a talented but unproven prospect.
Clark boxed very well and enters the British title mix.

I’d be happy to see Clark fight the Bowen-Hughes winner.

I agree - there are probably half a dozen British boxers who would beat him.

I’ve just read that Ronnie took the fight at 3 weeks notice - is that right?

Did another opponent pull out?

Amazing to read these comments. Ronnie is a true person and anyone who knows him knows he's as dedicated as they come. I wanna see him fight frenois then try get a world title. People saying o he's domestic level etc his dream is a world title, he's highly ranked now and has never took the easy route. Guys like burns in that were given quite realistic shots at world titles why can't He? Is every world champion deserved? Probably not but while there is all these organisations then it's gonna happen and I would love for my brother to win a world title given the odds he's faced.

. Ronnies ex stood up and in court under oath and said she had never ever been touched by Ronnie and she was scared of what he could potentially do. Nobody should be jailed for potential because we all have potential to do daft stuff and because he's a boxer he should not have been made an example of. Jailed for a bitter break up, break up he instigated and chose. Your jealousy of Ronald has stemmed way back and he's achieved more than you predicted. Does anyone know who you are ? Answer is no.

Thanks for nice comments guys.

I would put Clark in with Woodstock next.
If Clark wins, match Barrett and Woodstock up with both coming off losses.
If Woodstock wins, Clark can rematch Barrett...

Bowen vs. Hughes winner for the British?
Tennyson?
If he can't beat Ward or Cacace he can't really move above the domestic scene and expect to make waves.
Might aswell continue to mix it with all the domestic names.
Plenty of fights out there for him...

He wants to he a world champion so why move to British tilt? Listen we arnt gonna look to past. Ronnie is not the same fighter from before. Cacace fight he was out in Marbella sparring tom stalker to prepare him for Craig Evans, couldn't pick someone who isn't like cacace if he tried. The past is the past. Ronnie is 8 amateur fights or something and has learned on the job and now it's coming together. Ronnie can fight frenois and realistically fight for the ibf. Trust me everyone is entitled to their opinion of him but that energy and chin is the Ronnie we have told everyone about and his forced break has brought it out of him. Time is gonna tell. People are gonna discredit zelfa etc and that's fine but if they want Woodstock and that in there then fair enough.

Full credit for beating Zelfa but if I was advising Clark I would suggest he sticks around domestically for a fight or so more and gets a bit more exposure on BT Sport. Take Woodstocks unbeaten record then go after Frenois...

He will fight any of them.. That Ronnie Clark from last night beats everyone domestically so if the fights are there I’m sure they will happen.. I think it’s about time Ronnie’s career should be pointed on the right path he can fight for the World Title in 2-3 fights and can beat these fighters Fenois, Dibb and Farmer. Surely makes more sense to roll the dice than fight domestically. If people can’t see Clark from last night was a different fighter than against Ward don’t know boxing.. He would of wiped out Ward fighting like that.. I love the Woodstock fight for Ronnie. Why are we throwing out prospects to the Lions though I can’t understand.. Woodstock is way behind Barrett and look what happened.

Let’s see how the grass lays next few weeks

Massive respect to the Shark after that performance. I put a small bet on him at 10/1 because i thought it was too big a step up Barrett. That's the first time I've been out my seat watching boxing in a long time, a fantastic war from Clarke and that uppercut came from under the floor, it had me fist pumping the air. Respect to Barrett for getting up from that, it was a finisher - and to 2 of the judges for having the balls to score it fairly. Absolutely great fight on an otherwise nothing card.

Tell you one thing if they bring a fight to Dundee they won't be disappointed. Amazing the response he has had. He's had over 1000 mails to his page all wanting to see him. We have a venue in Dundee the caird hall which is identical to the York hall but we were never able to fill it. Declan Geraghty is now calling him out. He'd travel but if Woodstock was willing to travel we would take it up here. Warren won't back it though cause he would rather back boys poster boys. Ronnie deserves this and Frank needs to realise with or without him he will succeed. If he wants Leon Woodstock next then Archie Sharp. I'd love a world title fight though that's his dream.

to my eternal shame i hadn't really paid attention to ronnie clark. i will be now. that was a tremendous performance. i strongly suspect in the next few years barret will be as good as many people thought he would be. i have no idea what he will achieve but will be surprised if he doesn't get past british champion level ,and that level is a great achievement in itself, in my eyes anyway.
as edge of the seat fights go that was a good one, well done to both lads  .
one thing i will say is clark has put himself in the spotlight with that win. call me a bandwagon jumper ,but if he fights anywhere in scotland there will be a few more fifers there cheering him on. my (much) younger brother has a load of mates that regularly attend shows in boxing ,mma etc. there are 30 of them going to josh taylors next fight. i am fairly sure they will all be well up for going to clarks next fight after that performance.

at his age he needs to be pushed on fairly rapidly for the chance of some decent pay days,so i can understand the hurry to get him a shot at any of the world titles that may be available.
