Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
It should be Joshua, but I don't think that will happen in 2018.
It will probably be Dillian Whyte.
It will probably be Dillian Whyte.

Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
Povetkin just entered WBC rankings on March 1 at number 4. And number 3 Ortiz just lost. I could see Povetkin being named mandatory if he beats Price. Here we go again.
Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
lol povetkin that funny guy.
deontay should fight hm and easily ko him even if pov tests positve. to just make the guy go away

Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
Taking into account the business of the fighters Breazeale could be fine. That will be a bar brawl with a KO of Breazeale in the end.
Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
Wilder vs Joshua honestly will probably never be a bigger event than it is right now. So Haymon and them may jump at the chance to try to get it signed by years end.
Though Wilder succeeded against Ortiz he struggled enough that if you're his promoter you probably don't want to d*ck around fighting lesser fights and risk the opportunity of him losing and you missing out on that Multi-Million dollar payday.
So basically. My guess is either Wilder is gonna fight Joshua next, or he's gonna go back to defending his title against guys that aren't ranked in the Top 10 until the Joshua fight comes along. They're not gonna risk him against another dangerous opponent that's not named Joshua.

Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
I'm not that confident he will take any hard fights for a while. I think he might go back to what he was doing before Ortiz.
Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
Generally speaking, I agree with you, but you never know. For example - the great offer from super-wealthy Russian promoters for Povetkin fight (not likely, but possible).gilgamesh wrote: ↑05 Mar 2018, 14:20 Wilder vs Joshua honestly will probably never be a bigger event than it is right now. Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
Yeah that's possible, but if Povetkin is still slated to fight David Price in the U.K. I'd figure that if somebody is gonna be fighting Povetkin soon it'd be AJ. Because that's surely the idea behind bringing him to the U.K. to flatten Price.ValMar wrote: ↑05 Mar 2018, 14:45Generally speaking, I agree with you, but you never know. Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
I prefer to see Povetkin vs. Whyte, it would be a competitive fight. I feel Joshua would destroy Povetkin, easily. I am off topic, again.....Sorry.............gilgamesh wrote: ↑05 Mar 2018, 14:49Yeah that's possible, but if Povetkin is still slated to fight David Price in the U.K. I'd figure that if somebody is gonna be fighting Povetkin soon it'd be AJ. I think you might be over estimating Whyte.ValMar wrote: ↑05 Mar 2018, 14:56I prefer to see Povetkin vs. Whyte, it would be a competitive fight. I feel Joshua would destroy Povetkin, easily. I am off topic, again.....Sorry.............
Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
Povetkin vs Whyte would be solid, but consider Povetkin's age I figure he's just about at the point where he wants a really big fight or just not to bother at all.ValMar wrote: ↑05 Mar 2018, 14:56I prefer to see Povetkin vs. Whyte, it would be a competitive fight. I figure the only reason he's coming over to fight Price first is because Price is perceived as such an easy mark.
Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
No, simply he is bigger and younger.....Povetkin is more skillful, of course, and he would face the two opponents ("the father time" and Whyte)................
Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
Is everyone ruling out Parker? I have a feeling he KOs Joshua between rounds 10-12.

Give him a tomato can in the form of Charles Martin. Also, it gives Martin a chance to redeem himself, which I doubt will happen.

Then rather let Martin step up against Ortiz.HeavyHitters wrote: ↑05 Mar 2018, 18:11 Give him a tomato can in the form of Charles Martin. Also, it gives Martin a chance to redeem himself, which I doubt will happen.

Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
Joshua would be ideal but that's not gonna happen. There's already talk of AJ fighting Jarrell Miller in August if he beats Parker & Miller beats Duhaupas in April. So that means AJ-Wilder would be early 2019 at the soonest.
Wilder will probably take any easy fight like Breazale but after this sensational war with Ortiz the audience should be big just based on the excitement factor. Another "donnybrook" surely wouldnt hurt sales for an eventual PPV showdown with Joshua.

mate, you went on and on about how youd massively lose respect for aj if he fought miller, but your all enthusiastic about breazeale for wilder? double standards much?Best Coast wrote: ↑05 Mar 2018, 22:18 Joshua would be ideal but that's not gonna happen. Re: Who is the next for Wilder ?
Not a double standard. Wilder & AJ have established different standards THEMSELVES. AJ has consistently faced better fighters than Deontay, with Ortiz being the lone exception. Miller is a step down for AJ, but Breazeale is the same kind of 2nd-tier scrub Wilder has routinely feasted on before Ortiz. If Wilder KOs anyone in his pre-Joshua tuneup it will help sell PPVs for AJ bout.jamamb wrote: ↑05 Mar 2018, 22:20mate, you went on and on about how youd massively lose respect for aj if he fought miller, but your all enthusiastic about breazeale for wilder? double standards much?Best Coast wrote: ↑05 Mar 2018, 22:18 Joshua would be ideal but that's not gonna happen. I'm not saying Breazale has a chance but given Wilder's propensity for FIGHTING DOWN to the level of his competition Wilder would find a way to make it an exciting fight.
