Steady. Let's not rewrite history. The Brook Spence fight was a pretty evenly contested one in the main.
Kell was winning rounds whilst losing the fight. His tank was being stripped quicker in the act of winning the rounds he won than Spence's was stripped in (narrowly) losing them, in my opinion. Which showed itself in the fact that Spence won about the last 4 or 5, and winjing them much more clearly.
Yes, I generally agree with that overall view of the pattern of the fight but it was still close even though Spence was in the ascendency. I disagree that Spence "smashed him to bits". Whilst I think Spence would win a rematch at 154lbs I don't think it's a foregone conclusion as I think Brook could be more competitive at 154 and would be extremely unlucky to have an injury like the eye socket again.
To be fair you're right smashed him up is an overstatement. It would be another beat down, more like, and possibly slightly less pronounced.

Kells problem isn't the weight. It's that Spence's jab and pressure are a nightmare for him.

154's relatively open right now, but not if Thurman and/or Spence move up. At least Crawford's staying at 147 for the foreseeable.

Sadam Ali makes the most sense for Brook. That's the real test of where he is, because if he beats Ali he can stake his claim. I'm not sure that he can, though, 'cause Ali's pretty decent and I've still the feeling that Brook's never recovering from his eye damage psychologically. I don't think that anyone with half a brain would, and one more crack could well be career-ending.

If he gets past Ali I think he should fight Khan and then retire. His eyes are too much of a performance-affecting worry against the elites.

its plain to see
Borderline world class..

I really hoped his fight vs Vargas went ahead. The unification fight, before he decided to commit suicide against GGG. He could have answered all these questions.
yes I’m still annoyed at this one. And also Diego Chaves. These were solid fights that would’ve given a good indication at what he could do. And, a chance to build a solid resume. But these fights were negotiated out of, or withdrawn from sadly. And what really got me, the easy mandatories, the blowout fights always went ahead.

Those easy ones hurt him as much as anything else, he needed momentum after the Porter win and just didnt get it which stunted his progress IMO

Kell Brook has warned Errol Spence Jr that he would gain "revenge" for last year's defeat if they fought again in a new weight division.

"Errol Spence, after I won on Saturday, got straight on Twitter and he was mentioning me. He should be in his own train lane," Brook exclusively told Sky Sports.

"But he's jumped across, because he knew I was handling him, I was beating him. The tank was not very good, the eye wasn't very good, but now I'm Terminator, he can't hurt me, and I've got a serious engine. I've got plenty in the tank now."

"He can leave his world title, without losing it, and come up to 154lbs or a catchweight. I will beat Errol Spence Jr. At this new weight, I will destroy him."

"He should be looking forward but he's looking behind because he's not happy with how he got the world title. I was beating him, then I couldn't see. The new weight is a big difference."

"In the summertime, I will fight him at Bramall Lane. Let's do it again. It will be revenge, it won't be a repeat."

Jury’s still out on Brook at 154lbs. Let’s see him in with a Charlo, a Sadat Ali before we see how he could fair.

I’d be interested to see how he deals with an ancient Margarito or the durable Ishe Smith. I think he still needs a couple more fights at this weight before he jumps in with the top boys. He’s had some serious injuries.

He's still an interesting challenger. If he can't get Khan at Welterweight then I guess he might as well move up to 154. I could see him giving Lara a hard time because he's a slick boxer in his own right, and Lara's been around a while.

Jarrett Hurd would be a nightmare for him I figure, or at least a damn hard night.

Kell Brook still babbling on

Kell Brook: Jermell Charlo is Not a Top Dog or a Lion at 154 - I Am!

"[Charlo is] exciting and explosive. He's a good all-rounder. He's a bit unknown at the minute, his name is not massive, but the hardcore boxing fans know that Charlo's a real champion. He's not a top dog or a lion, I am. I hear that Errol Spence gives him a bit of a hiding in sparring," Brook told Sky Sports.

Brook is willing to return to the United States to face any of the current champions at 154 - if the money made sense.

"If the money made sense, I would fight anyone, anywhere. I fought Gennady Golovkin, nobody would fight him. The fans got me here and I want to provide the best fights for them. Of course I want fights in England, bring them over, and I'm the bigger name. Why couldn't we do that?," Brook said.

Kell Brook: I'd Fight Hurd - But Lara is Horrible, Difficult To Sell

Brook will keep a close eye on the fight and he does have interest in facing Hurd - should he win.

Hurd is the size of a super middleweight and generates amazement with his ability to make 154. He has an exciting come forward style with little regard for defense.

"I've not seen too much about him. He's not the best out of the bunch, but he's still a world champion. I would be interested in him. I would be interested in them all, because they have got world titles," Brook told Sky Sports.

Brook does not share the same thoughts when it comes to the possibility of facing Lara, should the Cuban stylist walk away with three titles.

He believes the style of Lara would make their match a very tough sell - even in the UK, because the Cuban champion prefers to win his fights with a technical boxing strategy - and he takes very few chances. If Lara is dominating his opponent, he is content to sit back and box his way to victory for a lopsided decision win.

"He's negative, he's a horrible awkward fighter. He knows how to get a win, but he's horrible, he's not a crowd-pleasing fighter. It would be difficult to sell. I'm in boxing for fights that would sell and be exciting, and he's not really there," Brook said.
