The Wilder who was outboxed by Washington?
A matter of an over achieving contender. Looked better than expected seems to equal winning. Let it go.
A matter of a guy, once again, showing his limitations in a weak era. Let it go.

It was really just a matter of Wilder taking his time and doing little until he unleashed his right hand.

I didn't see Washington looking like a ball of fire.

Clownish non-response. Pulev's only loss was to Klitschko, and at his height, he never got clowned by a C- fighter like Washington or Szpilka.

You can ignore my comments but it won’t change facts.

Joshua looked terrible against Klitschko, he was gassed out of breath , lucky to have beaten the old man .

Parker never was down or hurt against Ruiz , Takam or Fury who are top contenders.

Joshua has beaten only 1 top contender in his career ( Takam )

Who's ignoring your posts? I thought AJ was gassed his last couple of fights and I actually picked Parker by close decision (although I expressed my doubts after seeing those fights you mentioned as I had said). I'm just not in agreement about the prowess of Ruiz, Takam, or Hughy. I could be wrong, but it's what I think right now.

Parker is a 50/50 fight for AJ however I think it'll be much like Joe Louis vs Tommy Farr, and it'll go the whole 12 rounds and it'll be essentially a jabbing contest. If I'm correct, it'll only solidify the fact that Tyson Fury would decision AJ.

He has a deeper resume than Joshua, to be good. Minus Klitschko, Joshua has a weak resume. I won't pick Parker over Joshua, but I think Parker is getting underrated if people don't think he'll be competitive.

Takam: I thought Parker won a close fight. You could make a case for Takam winning and he wasn't troubled by Parkers' power.

Ruiz: i thought Parker won a close fight. You could make a case for Ruiz winning and he wasn't troubled by Parkers' power.

Razvan Cojanu: Unlike Takam and Ruiz, Cojanu is a rather limited opponent. He didn't remotely threaten to win but he wasn't troubled by Parkers' power either.

Fury: Did rather kill the fight but if you take the literal view about boxing being the art of hitting without being hit, and about the number of punches landed, then there was only one winner and it wasn't Parker.

Now this is heavyweight boxing, anything can happen. Joshua still has a few unresolved questions, notably regarding his chin and his stamina, but realistically he is 20 and 0 with 100% Knockout ratio for a reason, If Parker doesn't have the power to bother those guys, I can't really see him as the man to expose AJ's deficiencies and relieve him of his titles.
Good summary. Joshua is The Champion and this comes from a yank who is a Wilder fan.

tier one
Joshua

tier two
Wilder

tier three
Parker
Ruiz
Hughie
Povetkin
Pulev
Takam
Miller
Ortiz
How is Wilder Tier 2 from just beating Ortiz who almost stopped Wilder and was winning on points up till his stoppage.

Parker has beaten Takam , Ruiz , Huggie on that list

Joshua has beaten just Takam .. also Klitschko who almost beat Joshua.

So Parker beaten 3 Tier 3 opponents
Joshua 2
Wilder 1

Seems to me like Parker is the best HW

Parker

I thought Hughie beat Parker. His fights with Takam and Ruiz were also very close. I had Wilder behind 86-83 with Ortiz but I look more at the final result.

To keep it real , the only good fighter both have fought is Carlos Takam .

Joshua beat old man Klitschko which would’ve been more impressive if he wasn’t at the end of his career.

Parker’s fights against Ruiz and Fury are notible because both those fighters are still contenders.

I think Ruiz Jr. is actually better than Takam. Guy is horrifically inactive, but everyone was super impressed with his performance against Parker. Speaking of which, I'd love to see Takam/Ruiz Jr.

I'm not sure on Hughie. Guy is athletic and hard to hit, but he has soft hands and doesn't throw much. Horrible style for anyone to look good against, let alone beat.

I join you in the "I don't get it" camp.

Parker is an ordinary guy. Struggled to win his last several fights.

Just because Parker copped the decision over some top contenders (Takam, Fury, Ruiz) that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Those 3 aren't exactly future HOF fighters and the decisions were very debatable.

Where's the special quality in Parker? There is none. He's a nice, honest fighter, but he'll never be confused with a true heavyweight champion.

On any given night, any of the top 10 heavyweights could beat him.

I too am mystified why there are some hardcore believers in the abilities of Parker. I suspect that they'll be in for a very rude awakening March 31.

Joshua almost lost to a 41 year old man who was coming of a loss 3 years earlier.

A man who dominated a poor division by fighting shorter men and laying on them .

And that’s his best win lol.

He then fights a guy ( Takam ) who had short notice and no sparring and performed terrible where ref stopped fight for no reason.

Yet Parker has never been hurt , never stunned , easily winning his last few fights.

That comment makes me believe that you're being a wee bit facetious in your praise of Parker.

You would be the only one on the planet who argues that Parker won his past few fights "easily."

Damned right... He didn't even win his fights with Ruiz and Takam.... The Fury fight??? That was a squeaker against a man who's a physical wreck... Fury has more health problems than you can name and I'm not sure they've all been dealt with.... Plus, he hates Boxing even more than his brother Tyson.

Parker beat Takam & Ruiz because it’s on his record as a win not a loss. He almost knocked out Takam and Joshua’s ref would have stopped it .

Fury ran like he didn’t want to be in same ring as Parker.

Mayve Joshua’s Ref should have stopped fight when Klitschko dropped Joshua ... just wave off the fight that’s how they roll right?

But we're not strictly talking Ls and Ws.

We're talking performances.

You can rightly argue whether Parker deserved the decisions in those fights. Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. It's subjective.

But to claim that his wins were earned easily is pure BS.

Deservedly or not, Parker struggled to beat average contenders.

He has demonstrated nothing to make anyone rational believe he's an elite fighter.
