Last I looked there are 325 million folks living over here. in addition, I haven't seen an AJ ppv either. PPV is a worldwide event where millions (not 90,000 live at event) pay upwards of $59.99 to watch. THAT is where the money is. Question...does the Joshua camp pay you?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 13:46A bout between Joshua-Wilder would be AJ’s third title unification bout – nothing out of the ordinary for casual boxing observers in the UK. Where's the money coming from? A magical tree? Mainstream casuals in the UK and the US don't know who he is.
Deontay Wilder doesn't have a fan base. Most high-profile welterweights earn more than he does.
You’re ignoring numbers, because they don’t adhere to your preferred narrative, but they’re important, because they represent the commercial worth in the real-world… and Wilder has very little.
Mainstream casuals in the UK wouldn’t pay more to see a Joshua-Wilder fight than a Joshua-Parker bout or even Joshua-Klitschko.
Deontay’s name wasn’t big enough in the US to warrant Showtime covering the Wilder-Ortiz bout as a PPV event, which is the reason why is the reason why the American typically commands fight purses that are 14.3 times smaller than AJ's.
Do you think we will see a 31-32 y/o AJ vs a 35-36 y/o Wilder ?

If Wilder gets 15 M's is a lucky man. 15 millions is fair enough for Wilder if he's gonna fight AJ. But if Wilder goes in U.K and beats T.Fury and Whyte-Browe winner then his financial demands should increase considerably.

Remember one thingEnlightened-One wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 13:30The combined total of Deontay Wilder’s earnings for the following seven world title fights is less than $10m:oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 13:28No one talks about how much more AJ would make merely by fighting Wilder. He adds a ton of revenue. Should get 40%Enlightened-One wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 13:25 AJ should keep clear of Wilder if the American’s payday demands remain as-is.
The combined total for Deontay’s next ten bouts would likely be less than what Anthony Joshua is being paid to face Joseph Parker on the 31st March, 2018.
• Gerald Washington = $900K
• Chris Arreola = $1.4m
• Artur Szpilka = $1.5m
• Johann Duhaupas = $1.4m
• Bermane Stiverne I = $1m
• Bermane Stiverne II = $1.4m
• Luis Ortiz = $2.1m
'The Bronze Bomber' doesn't have a fan base on US shores. His average purse per fight is less than $1.4m, which is a smaller payday than many high-profile 147lb-ers earn.
Mayweather didn't make much before DeLahoya. It took bearing him to put him in the big money.

If Wilder is for real, he needs to take the short end - Joshua is the draw here, in the US nobody really gives a shit about Wilder, whereas Joshua is a household name in the UK, he's selling out the biggest venues in the country, as well as doing great PPV numbers, neither of which Wilder has done so far.
If Wilder beats Joshua, he becomes a star overnight, and can command far bigger paydays.
Joshua really doesn't need to do anything, he's making an absolute killing as it is.

It doesn't matter if America has a larger population than the UK. It's all about revenue generation and Wilder generates a mere fraction of what AJ does.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 13:50...and...you didn't answer the question.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 13:50Last I looked there are 325 million folks living over here. in addition, I haven't seen an AJ ppv either. A bout between Joshua-Wilder would be AJ’s third title unification bout – nothing out of the ordinary for casual boxing observers in the UK. And Deontay Wilder isn’t more popular to the UK mainstream casuals than Klitschko or Parker is.

Also, whilst AJ is clearly popular in the UK, the amount of money he is able to generate is finite. It doesn't necessarily grow according to the level of competition he faces, since there are only so many casuals that are willing to pay to watch boxing.
For instance, just because Joshua-Wilder is a better fight than Joshua-Takam, it doesn't guarantee that it'll generate significantly more money, since there are limits to stadium capacities and those willing to pay for boxing.
In regards to you explanation of a PPV event being "worldwide", I'll let others correct you on that one, because your thought process relating to this is comical.

I don't know about comical, but I could be wrong...I'm just making my points. Bottom line, we both agree we want to see this fight already. I personally don't care what they make, as it has no impact on me. I just want the fight.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 15:30It doesn't matter if America has a larger population than the UK. We both agree about wanting to see a bout between AJ and Wilder, but if it doesn't happen, it'll be because the American is demanding almost fifteen times his normal payday to face the Brit... and neither Anthony Joshua, nor Matchroom nor Sky nor Showtime are willing to be out-of-pocket for the sake of caving into 'The Bronze Bombers' excessive purse size demands.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 15:33I don't know about comical, but I could be wrong...I'm just making my points. You have one guy that typically earns $1.4m per fight suddenly demanding an average of $20m per fight to face AJ. Where is that money going to come from?
Re: Do you think we will see a 31-32 y/o AJ vs a 35-36 y/o Wilder ?
You made me think hard about this. You are right, and I am not. Joshua is promoted way better and is adored by an entire country...The U.S. isn't as die-hard with regards to boxing, (so few of us are). So...even though you will fall off your chair...I am in agreement from that perspective.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 15:39We both agree about wanting to see a bout between AJ and Wilder, but if it doesn't happen, it'll be because the American is demanding almost fifteen times his normal payday to face the Brit... and neither Anthony Joshua, nor Matchroom nor Sky nor Showtime are willing to be out-of-pocket for the sake of caving into 'The Bronze Bombers' excessive purse size demands.oogiebe wrote: ↑13 Mar 2018, 15:33I don't know about comical, but I could be wrong...I'm just making my points. If they stay unbeaten, it'll happen by summer 2019 at the latest, everyone is in this game for money, fighters, managers, trainers, promoters etc etc, other than maybe Fury there isn't a HW fight where more money can be made, it has to happen.
