and about aj at 1, you may do a sh!tposting 'lol!' but actually think about it and consider before saying why im wrong:

abilities

excellent power and size

very good fundementals, with each punch being thrown almost textbook perfect. good sense of distance.

fast hands even though hes not fast on his feet

has every punch in the book, wheras guys like the klits for most of there careers only had straights

although he has had some stamina issues he showed excellent second winds, which a guy like wlad couldnt

obviously has plenty of heart in how he got through the wlad fight. chin is respectable too even though not iron clad.

compared to klits

now, some will say 'of look how much trouble he had with wlad, and wlad was old', but how about actually watching wlad there and comparing him to past fights. wlad gave everything and fought with all he had. he was in his best form perhaps ever and his brother said it was his best fight. that wlad was miles better for example then the one who beat jennings, right before wlad fought fury

and look at all the guys wlad had problems with, who are really no better then guys aj is winning pretty much all rounds vs and stopping

vitali relied a lot on height and he wouldnt have had that vs aj, and aj was vastly bigger punching, faster, better fundementals, doesnt cut as easily etc, and is plenty tough himself.

his record

already got wlad, whyte, takam, breazeale, johnson (one of vitalis challengers)

by saturday likely: wlad, parker, whyte, takam, breazeale, etc

hes arguably already at vitali level and isnt far off at all from wlad. remember aj is not even 5 years into his career yet.

Since Lennox?

Vitali would be my number one - Wladimir the number two.

Then I suppose you'd be looking at the likes of AJ, Povetkin, Chagaev, Haye, Byrd, Ibragimov, Sam Peter.

Byrd before Vitali :maybe: I know he beat him on an injury but Vitali was better than Byrd man!

Vitali
Wlad
AJ
Fury/Povetkin
Wilder

Can't think of anymore tbh. It's a good question and makes you think about how awful the division has been since Lewis wrapped it. It's also pretty hard to judge as well because Vitali and Wlad were so dominant for so long. I think that's why I have 3/4 guys from today in the list when maybe they arguably don't deserve to be there :maybe:

On results there's no way it can be anyone but Wlad at number 1.

Wlad
Vitali
AJ - but still early days
Haye - but he's a distant 4th

If AJ beats Wilder, and hangs on to his belts for a significant length of time, and fights the best of his era, he can yet leapfrog Wlad.

Vitali is probably the best fighter since Lewis, but unfortunately his level of opponent was generally poor, and he lost a few years to inactivity and injury which held him back.

surely you can't have Fury so high based on one decent win, though I suppose you could say the same about Joshua.

I've kind of forgotten about Fury, it's so long now since he actually fought, that I don't even have him in mind.

Since lewis?

Wlad
Vitali
Fury
Joshua
Wilder

Thr top two here are the best and their record proves this, the other 3 are not in order of who sits were just they are in the top 5. Vitali would of been top but wlad held titles longer and was a better ambassador for the sport of boxing.

This would be my list too. I'd move 4 above 3 if Joshua wins on Saturday. I wouldn't argue too much if Wilder replaced Povetkin at 5.
