Joshua v Parker
How on earth does Eddie Hearn keep pursuading 80,000 mugs to part with large amounts of cash to watch these rubbish fight nights ?
Joshua is " the son of Bruno" who would not have got past European/commonwealth level 30 odd years ago. Parker looked like he could make Cruiserweight with a proper training regime. All that talk of Maori warrior piffle!
What sort of people go all the way to Cardiff and sing "Oh Anthony Joshua" all through the fight. These people must have serious problems.
Can you imagine what both versions of Geoge Foreman would have done to both of these pretenders !

70,000 Brits who don't really know much about boxing.. the remaining 10,000 are likely actually boxing fans.. hardcore.
Hearn is just milking the general public..

I wouldn't go to a stadium fight no matter who was fighting, been to 3 in the past and the view from the cheap seats is terrible, usually the under card is poor too.Wilder is far more exciting than Joshua but can't fill a phone box so it must be down to the fast Eddie hype machine.

Can’t see how Wilder is far more exciting than Joshua. Are you basing that on the Wilder-Ortiz fight vs Joshua-Parker?bigjack wrote: ↑01 Apr 2018, 14:24 I wouldn't go to a stadium fight no matter who was fighting, been to 3 in the past and the view from the cheap seats is terrible, usually the under card is poor too.Wilder is far more exciting than Joshua but can't fill a phone box so it must be down to the fast Eddie hype machine.
Vast majority of Wilder’s fights have been tedious! Joshua v Klitschko was ten times more exciting than anything Wilder has taken part in.

Touch short on which to judge to be fair! Most of Wilders fights consist of him doing nothing for 3/4 rounds then landing a big, wild shot. Ortiz wasn’t exactly the thrilla in manilla! It had a couple of periods where it caught light but it wasn’t a patch on Joshua-Klitschko for example.
Joshua’s problem is, Wlad aside, he’s more or less been far too good for his opponents. Wilder has struggled with some very average fighters.

Re: Joshua v Parker
Maybe but because Wilder is vulnerable to a ko himself, that makes him more exciting to watch and will have an excellent chance of chinning Joshua should they meet.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2018, 14:42Touch short on which to judge to be fair! Re: Joshua v Parker
Joshua has never looked in serious bother outside of a couple of rounds against Wlad and one punch from Whyte. Wilder seems to have a lot more problems against opposition that Joshua deals with pretty easily.

Klitschko, Parker and Whyte are definitely not bumsMrGuy wrote: ↑01 Apr 2018, 14:52He's basically fought bums just like Wilder has.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑01 Apr 2018, 14:42Touch short on which to judge to be fair! Joshua faced two tougher and better fighters.

The atmosphere at the Klitschko was on a par with prime Hatton for me. Hearn gets 80,000 fans at shows because he’s a good promoter and AJ is an excellent, usually exciting, heavyweight.
Also to say that AJ wouldn’t have got past Commonwealth/Euro level just isn’t right! Do you really think 6’4 Parker could lose over 2 and half stone to make cruiser?!?
Re: Joshua v Parker
I meet the most random people who go to AJ fights. None regular fans.
Thing is it’s bringing money to our game. We just have to suck it up.

Parker would have to lose a leg to make cruiser. You are talking bollocks.
Re: Joshua v Parker
Parker has never been down even Joshua the number 1 Heavyweight in the world couldn’t put him down.
Joshua had never been 12 rounds , Parker took him 12 rounds .
Parker is definitely no bum and any fighter he faces will know they are going to be going 12 rounds.
So I want to see Parker vs Wilder after/if Wilder drops Joshua because I think Parker can outbox Wilder

If done means he would have beaten any other boxer in the world other than Joshua, yes he was done.

Re: Joshua v Parker
The list is to long. His alleged prime was with Steward. He was getting laid out 8 years into his career. If being that far into his career isn't his prime.......Yes Steward allegedly took him to a new level. His alleged prime had him jabbing and clutching his opponents all night. Take away his clinchfests and that guy spends more time on his back than a cheap hooker.

I went to the Takem fight with my daughter who loved it. Cracking night with a great atmosphere. I also went to other fights like Bruno v Bugner in 1987, Benn v Eubank, Benn v McClellan, Bruno v McCall, Lewis v McCall and 22 other "world" title fights, small hall fights and also boxed as an amateur for a few years myself, so not some casual fan. Probably been to more shows than you.
I am also a huge critic of Matchroom and even unsubbed from sky sports for three years as not a fan of a lot of the mismatches BUT the reality is he gets fans out as he actually can promote and puts on a great night which you want to go to and you leave happy enough.
And to say Parker, a 6ft 4" guy with not much fat could shed over two stone to make cruiserweight is a fcking stupid statement.
Re: Joshua v Parker

Re: Joshua v Parker
Is hands up code for excessive clinching? His hands up had little to do with his success. In real non-clinchfests......Ali, Foreman, Holmes, Lyle, Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, McCall, Mercer, and his own brother. That's the short one.Gnome wrote: ↑01 Apr 2018, 20:01Indulge me, name some names. Proviso: his prime was when he learnt to keep his hands up.MrGuy wrote: ↑01 Apr 2018, 19:29The list is to long. What are you on about? I'm talking about his contemporaries, not Ali and Foreman and their ilk.
