Come on hit to write exactly the same. Wilder's one attribute is power take that away and hes not got a lot else
Problem is you can't take it away.
Exactly that mate. I wouldn't want to take it away it's partly what's making the heavyweight division so exciting

I think Towers did time if im correct? I'm pretty sure he had no problems inside. Even the proper gangers would give him a swerve. He looks like a guy you don't want to have any hassle with. If he asked me for my wallet, I'd have no problem handing it over.

He carries that power late too, as we saw against Ortiz.
I don't think Joshua can take ONE clean right hand from Wilder. I think Wilder can probably weather a storm from Joshua, although he does look shaky. Joshua can't afford to make ONE MISTAKE vs Wilder though.
If Joshua has Wilder in any hint of trouble, he finishes him 100%.
Definitely. It's foolish to suggest that Wilder could turn the fight with one punch and not credit Joshua with the same.

Let's not forget, Wilder got floored in the amateurs, floored by Sconiers, wobbled by Molina. Don't let the sight of him taking a few blows from a tired, old Ortiz fool you, he has vulnerabilities, just like Joshua.

The torture wasn't the aim, just the means. He tortured them to get them to hand over their money, not for kicks, I mean.

It's a bit of overkill using an iron in the first place. He could probably crush most cùnts heads with one hand :o

Wilder strikes me as the kind of guy with no ‘off’ button in comparison to AJ and Wlad. Tyson was the same in footage of him almost KOing sparring partners who were well below his level.

On the other hand, Wilder lacks technical ability and Tyson lacked height and reach, so I think it's fair to argue they have/had to be aggressive in sparring to keep their opponents in check.

Joshua's definitely more of a manufactured puncher than Wilder, insofar as he'd lose more power if both men stopped training for a year. Wilder's arms aren't even that muscular, which is one of the reasons for his power. Hearns; Jackson; Trinidad... All slender guys with no excess to impede their fast-twitch fibres.

But sure, AJ hits more than hard enough to stop Wilder. It's maybe 2 or 3 punches versus 1 or 2.

I'd be spilling the beans after one wrong look from Towers to be honest mate. Ship the bloke over to guantanamo bay and all the prisoners will be revealing everything they know about Al Qaeda/ISIS as soon as the bloke comes into the room. lol. They been quiet for the last 20 years but im sure give Towers 30 seconds and they will let it all out

Towers wouldn't be intimidating to the average heavyweight who has fight experience but to the average joe he would obliterate them in short order. There was a tournament that WWE had a few years back where Butterbean had a legitimate fight against a wrestler and starched him in 30 seconds. Not sure what they were expecting by putting a wrestler in with a boxer. Vinny Pazienza was ref. They actually had Kevin Rooner and Chuck Wepner as judges

Both have the power to flatten the other.....but Wilder would have to land a humdinger right hand, whereas I think Joshua's jab has the potential to hurt Wilder. Wilder needs to land the right punch, Joshua just needs to be landing.

The danger with Wilder is you can be beating him up and pushing him around, but he only has to uncoil that right hand once correctly to win. The Ortiz fight is a good example with Wilder's big bombs landing against the run of play.

That's the problem with Wilder. He can be 11 rounds down and flatten his man in the 12th with one punch.

Joshua would get caught at some point for me. No doubt about it.
You're right about the danger that Wilder poses for as long as he's standing. The difference is Wilder won't be allowed to 'linger' against Joshua. I would expect Joshua to get rid of him rapidly. Really the thing that Joshua would need to work on for a Wilder fight is closing the gap quickly, because Wilder only carries power at the end of his right hand. Up close he has nothing to worry Joshua and up close Joshua can murder him with uppercuts and his sheer strength.

The danger comes in waiting on Wilder and allowing him to have space.

Always what I've thought from watching Joshua. His one punch power isn't that great (though I'm sure he'd KO me, just with a jab), but he really batteres opponents into submission with hard punch after hard punch. Almost all of the stoppages are like that. He catches them, he lands a couple more, they go down, they get up, he unloads, the are out on the ropes, and the ref stops it. Whereas with Wilder you see one punch does a lot more, and he tends to knock them clean out more often.

Agreed. I think the longer the fight goes the more dangerous Wilder gets. Joshua would do well to get him going early. Start pissing around jabbing and taking his time and "outboxing" Wilder for long periods and the next thing he knows he'll have been starched.

In this weeks Boxing News, Towers says that Deontay Wilder wipes the floor with David Haye when he was over here for sparring.
First time I’ve heard anyone say that.
I remember the Hayemaker video with Haye climbing the rope etc and the sparring clip where he catches Wilder and he wobbles but that’s about all I’ve seen or heard from those sessions until now.
True?
Surprising?

Probably is true due to the amount of coverage they gave that ten second clip of him catching Wilder.

They?
Who is they?
Booth/Hayemaker put the video out there and that’s that as far as I’m aware, I haven’t ever seen Haye or Booth mention it again.
The video of Wilder slapping around Charlie Zelanoff has been shared and shared and shared but I’m confident that’s not because in reality CZ put a beating on Wilder.
Perhaps Wilder did knock Haye around, if so it just seems surprising that it’s taken this long to come out, after all people live a good sparring story.
