OK good point. Lots of fighters don't take care of themselves between fights, and a few stay in top shape all the time, like the Klitschkos. Fury was extreme. How high did his weight go? Over 350? He's an original though. You never can tell. I guess we'll see soon enough. I hope he does well.
Who wins, T. Fury vs. Povetkin (December 2018) ?

The boxing forum is the last place in this world where I expected LGBT population.

Valmar it was clearly a joke. I don’t swing that way...not that there’s anything wrong with it.
Ps, what are you wearing?

I don't see how anybody can predict anything regarding Fury. His own mind changes by the week.

Yes, because he's a better fighter. If we're talking prime for prime, Povetkin would pressure Fury for the whole fight, and Tyson doesn't have the power to keep him away. Povetkin would be well capable of dropping and hurting Fury too, seeing as Fury has been decked by single shots from the light hitting and UH OH! 'Much Smaller' Cunningham and Pajkic, and rocked by the 'Much Smaller' and light hitting Chisora.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑03 Apr 2018, 20:40In all seriousness, do you genuinely believe that Povetkin would beat any version (especially peak version) of Fury? as a boxing fan, I'm curious to know why.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑31 Mar 2018, 13:25Are you Enlightened_One? And utterly and a totally disgusting mismatch! No boxer shorter than 6 foot 4 inches in history would ever be favored to beat Tyson Fury. Fury would accidentally squish Povetkin like a bug!
It's ridiculous that we even discuss the outcomes of these astronomical mismatches. It's even more ridiculous that these mismatches even take place in boxing today in the first place. What next? Who wins between a rabbit and a dinosaur inside a Colosseum.
If David Price is anywhere near his best, I'm not even going to make Povetkin the favorite to beat him. In fact, price would probably win by KO inside 6 rounds.
If Povetkin beats Price, it'd be down to Price not being fully prepared, rather than anything from Povetkin. This fight is dependent upon David Price and if the best and most prepared version of Price turns up. no version of Povetkin probably stands any chance at winning.
It's disgusting that giants like Tyson Fury are allowed to compete against tiny insects in such astronomical and gruesome mismatches. The boxing commission really have to do something about this!
I don't believe you when you say you are familiar with the career of Price, because if you were, you'd understand that he has been crushed inside the distance by three fighters inferior to Povetkin, and his style makes size irrelevant, he is just very easy to back up whether you're a 6'1 220 lb heavy or a 6'6 250 lb one.
As for the question, Povetkin likely decisions any version of Fury, although it wouldn't be easy. If Fury comes back and looks particularly bad (as I'm expecting) he probably gets stopped.

But prime Fury doesn't have the same problems that he suffered against Pjakic, Chisora and Cunningham. So those problems he had pre-prime are irrelevant when discussing a match between prime version of himself and his opponents.Riddick Blowe wrote: ↑08 Apr 2018, 14:00Yes, because he's a better fighter. And after seeing Povetkin being rendered totally ineffective / useless against Wladimir Klitschko. Why couldn't Fury use a similar / the same tactic against Povetkin as well? What then?
And then take a look at Fury's performance against Wladimir Klitschko where he beat Wladimir Klitschko easily (relatively speaking). And then compare that to Povetkin's helpless performance against Wladimir Klitshcko (where had no answers).
Do the odds of Povetkin winning still look good to you?

Simply put Fury encountered an end of the road Klitschko.
Klitschko was closer to prime form when he spanked Povetkin.
but I suspect that you already knew that.

Fury got dropped by Cunningham in 2013. What made him so much better in 2015 when he fought Wlad? He was the same lumbering goon, his opponent just didn't fight to capitalise on it.Luis Fernando12 wrote: ↑08 Apr 2018, 17:56

Wlad was a better fighter than Fury in almost all ways, and certainly in power, which was a key factor vs Povetkin. Fury doesn't have that power. And after seeing Povetkin being rendered totally ineffective / useless against Wladimir Klitschko. Why couldn't Fury use a similar / the same tactic against Povetkin as well? What then?
It's a useless comparison. Wlad was terrible against Fury, nobody knows why, he had a bad night, he just wouldn't pull the trigger, despite being given many, many chances to do so. Meanwhile, against Wlad, Povetkin was being hampered by a bad referee who wouldn't let him work on the inside. Povetkin could have done a lot better vs Wlad if the ref had been competent, although he probably wouldn't have won.And then take a look at Fury's performance against Wladimir Klitschko where he beat Wladimir Klitschko easily (relatively speaking). In any case, it's hard to say with any confidence what happens if Fury fought Povetkin in the near future. Povetkin looks past it to me, but we don't know exactly how bad Fury will look.
