So the "contract" does not state where the fight will be, when it will be, or even whether it will be Joshua’s next fight.jamamb wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 21:10 thoughts? says he will respond in 48 hours

Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
Sounds reasonable on its surface but the fine print could get a bit dicey...
However, the American’s management team, through co-manager Shelly Finkel, refuted this yesterday, claiming that this is “the first offer”, which was a “flat fee with no place, date or venue, nor even whether it was the next fight”.
Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
The fight is expected to generate over $199 million. So right off that, let's say it's a 90-10 % split. That's a horrible offer. On top of that, there is no mention of location or where the fight is. I'm pretty nuetral in this fight, I just want to see it. That offer is horrible though. AJ doesn't want that smoke.....
Edit, late at night, I meant $100 million....

does that mean the pot to be split would be around $199m? well over 100m?armageto wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 21:29 The fight is expected to generate over $199 million. what is the basis for such a massive figure?
aj and wlad split around 40m for there fight, what would you expect wilder and aj to have to split here?
many ppl want 40 percent for wilder, so does that mean wed be looking at him getting like $60 million?
you saying aj is ducking and afraid?

Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
hearn also said 1.5m ppv buys in the us, which is nonsense. aj isnt any better known in the us then ortiz is, and wilder-ortiz did 1m on showtime ffs, not 1.5m on ppv
canelo is way bigger in the us then wilder or aj, and gggs pretty decent a draw, and they only did 1.3m. dont tell me 'but there heavyweights!' because hw boxing just aint that big in the us anymore. look at the recent superstars: canelo, floyd, manny, oscar, etc
some of the estimated figures being thrown around are crazy. if you listen to some people, wilder with 40 percent of the supposedly utterly gargantuan pot should be making more then what wlad and aj combined made for there fight. this is despite boxing those guys being much bigger money makers then him.

Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
It goes to show that it's a bad offer even more, if they expecting over 100 million pounds from this fight.tiny_acres wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 21:54Hearn predicted 80-100 million poundsarmageto wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 21:29 The fight is expected to generate over $199 million. Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
claiming it would do 1.5m in the us throws doubt on all the financial claims, theres simply no good reason for believing wilder vs aj would do nearly that many when neither has close to the us profile to make that happen
again, if this pot is as massive as some suggest, then even with like 40 percent wilder would be looking at making more then wlad and aj made combined for there fight, despite both guys already being far bigger draws then wilder.

Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
I don't even think Wilder needs 40% in reality. Offer up 25% to start, than negotiate up to 33-35%. 14.5 million, is pretty much offering him close to 10%, which is an insult. People are predicting over $100 million, so the offer to Wilder is pretty bad, if those estimates are accurate.jamamb wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 21:48does that mean the pot to be split would be around $199m? well over 100m?armageto wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 21:29 The fight is expected to generate over $199 million. I can't say if Joshua is scared or doesn't want the fight. I can say his team made a terribly low offer, plus there is no location or date for the fight. The offer is a joke.

i dont see where all this money is coming from. your low rate 'starting' amount is already millions more then what wlad klit made vs aj, and wlad was a far bigger money maker then wilder. these figures seem way over the top, as the us ppv shows.
wilder ultimately gets paid in dollars not percents. he now makes 1-2m. and yet 20m isnt even good enough as a starting amount?

If this is an 80 million dollar fight.
The offer is 12 million to Joshua's 68 million.
Or if it was 60/40
48 million to Joshua
32 million to Wilder.
This has nothing to do with what Wlad or Joshua made in that fight.
It's larger amounts being discussed.
Percentages period the end

I agree. Wilder just wants more percentage wise than Parker got.armageto wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 22:07I don't even think Wilder needs 40% in reality. If Parker received 33 1/3%
Wilder eont sign for less than 35%
Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
well your saying hearn is saying its an 80-100 million POUND fight, which is 115-140m usd.
a 60-40 of that would be as much as 84-56 million!!! ya f@cking right lol
just look at the 1.5m us ppv claim to know its bs

There's no talking to you on the subject.
Thanks for the debate. Have a good night
Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
ya, and theres no talking to ppl who have no perspective. and strange how half your posts are about hearn being a lieing snake but then you just readily accept the claims of this 150m pot and 1.5m us ppvs!
again, wilder gets paid in dollars and not percents. he makes like 1-2m per fight. the idea that somehow he needs to be STARTED out at like 25m is crazy. 'pretty neutral' lmao
and this pot isnt going to be nearly as big as some are claiming anyway. wlad and aj split like 40m, and this is somehow doing several times that? lol!
ya, because wilders an absolutely massive superstar who makes far more then wlad.

Sounds like a low offer I'll be surprised if Wilder takes it.

Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
surely then wilder must be the worst managed boxer in history if hes this incrediblely massive draw but has only been making like 1m a fight
i mean, wlad made 10m even vs bums and packed stadiums, and he got like 20m vs aj. whereras wilder deserves a MINIMUM starting offer of millions more then that, even though he brings in like 1m a fight?
who has been robbing wilder?

proof of what? for wlads financial power just do a quick google, all sorts of numbers out there. the guy made millions and millions even vs nobodies, and then got 15-20m for aj. whereas wilder makes like 1m yet some people think he deserves to fetch 25m as a minimum starting offer to be increased. just look up, armageto for example is basically suggesting duck if wilder doesnt get like 25m just as a minimum starting offerEvander wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 22:31Can you provide proof of that please, thanks in advance.jamamb wrote: ↑10 Apr 2018, 22:24 surely then wilder must be the worst managed boxer in history if hes this incrediblely massive draw but has only been making like 1m a fight

if wilders this massive financial power why has he been making like 1m? he didnt even get that vs washington. he must be terribly handled then.

Re: wilder offered 12.5m us to fight aj
I am guessing this is directed towards me. I actually favor AJ in the fight still, though it has narrowed over the past year. There is no way, any champ in their right mind, is taking 10%. On top of that with no date or venue of the fight. Yeah, Wilder makes only a few million per fight. However him and Joshua is to unify all the belts and the biggest fight to make in the division in years. It's also the biggest fight to make in the sport right now.
The PPV sale expectations in the US seem off for right now, but there is no date for the fight. Say this fight happens in a year, with more exposure on it. I could see it reaching a million PPV sales here.
It's a bad offer. This has nothing with being pro Wilder or AJ. From the US or UK. Wilder brings himself to the fight. Which makes it the biggest HW fight in YEARS. He deserves more than 10%.
