A cheater screwing somebody else's career doesn't sound humorous to me.

The situation isn't funny but the comments are.

No matter what boxing is just a sport. Just entertainment for those of us not making a buck off of it
We got to make jokes when crap pisses us off.
It's better than having posters go on a 2000 word rant

Here we go again with the poor Golovkin is a tottering, feeble old man of 36 who's ready for his death bed.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 15:47 What is so hard to understand, Pipi? Golovkin is 36, and he cannot waste any time. Due to the Clenbnelo's team demands, he already skipped a fight last summer. Now the dirty cheater is at fault for killing their fight. Golovkin spent time and effort for training, and doesn't want to have that wasted. The date itself doesn't matter.
Try telling that to George Foreman. Or even Bernard Hopkins.

I'm not saying GGG is done but he's slipped.SenorPipino wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 17:28Here we go again with the poor Golovkin is a tottering, feeble old man of 36 who's ready for his death bed.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 15:47 What is so hard to understand, Pipi? Mentioning Hopkins or Foreman are exceptions to the rule they're not the norm
Re: Why hasn’t GGG’s opponent been sorted out yet?
Not sure I'd pick the exceptions to prove a point. The shelf life of most fighters at the top of their game is extremely short lived, mitigated by fight style and genetics.

I am not sure about slipping. My point was that time is precious for him. He has always wanted to be active, and Canelo bullsh!t caused him only fight twice last year and puts him in danger of only fighting once this year.tiny_acres wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 19:39I'm not saying GGG is done but he's slipped.SenorPipino wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 17:28Here we go again with the poor Golovkin is a tottering, feeble old man of 36 who's ready for his death bed.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 15:47 What is so hard to understand, Pipi? No one ever explains why they believe Golovkin has slipped.Blodhemn wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 19:46 Not sure I'd pick the exceptions to prove a point. The shelf life of most fighters at the top of their game is extremely short lived, mitigated by fight style and genetics.

Simply because he hasn't dominated once he stepped up the caliber of his competition from B level fighters to A level?
That'll happen. It's not cause to believe that his prime has passed. It's just that the higher grade opposition has made him look more mortal.
And BR--I really don't believe that Golovkin is clinging to the May 5 date because he's frantic about his prime slipping away.
I think he would laugh if you suggested to his face that his time at the top is rapidly dwindling. Fighters never think that way.
That's one reason why so many continue to fight when it's obvious that they truly are over the hill.
They just don't see it.

His wife wants him to quit and he even says he's getting older.
No shame in being 36 and calling it a career.
He's a future hall of famer
Re: Why hasn’t GGG’s opponent been sorted out yet?
A lot of wild amateur fights against top competition and training like an animal years on end takes a toll in itself. That said, I didn't really expect GGG to KO Canelo as his defense is generally good when he forgoes any offense. So I'd say it's a bit of both.SenorPipino wrote: ↑15 Apr 2018, 20:18
