They don’t take risks. Wlad wasn’t a risk at all, it was for the title! That’s not a risk, that’s what it’s all about.
Haye was for big money. Reward outweighed the risk.

Chisora was never a risk. Tyson’s always been far too good for him.

Yes he's done well to do that , but he's still a lardarse and I expected a bit better conditioning tbh .

Yes he's done well to do that , but he's still a lardarse and I expected a bit better conditioning tbh .

As Rexob said, he has never been that chiselled type and I think his conditioning now, considering where he started from, is on point. You can’t work the body too hard, it wouldn’t have been sensible to add a lot of muscle because when coming from so far back you have to be careful not to put too much stress on the body otherwise you will cause injuries. His current trainer has done a great job with healthy weight reduction, I’m not so sure about his boxing credentials but in the fitness side he seems spot on...

What am I missing here?! I would say, based on who Fury had fought previously, McDermott was a small risk, Chisora was definitely a risk (Fury was the underdog in that first fight), the signed Haye fight, regardless of money was a massive risk (at the time I thought Haye would Ko’him easily based on who’d floored Tyson and fighting Klitschko in Germany was a risk.

Yes - the fight tomorrow is awful but to say he’s not taken risks is quite revisionist.

When I think of risk in boxing it’s risk about losing fights. I agree he would have been well in paid and as with the Klitschko I’m sure they weighed up the risk vs reward but I’d still say they were very risky fights.
