Hunter beats Dunne for me.

Yes how can Guartos get a shot at the European Belt!!!!

Boxing is shite when it comes to governing bodies, commisions apart from the British title.

Hunter is pretty good technically, doesn't stop punching and has a good heart, and ranked in top 10 by some of the proper sanctioning bodies.

I think he should defend the whole lot against Bernard next, European, British and Commenwealth, brilliant set up for what could be a classic.

Hunter has said he doesn't want to rush things and will stay defending his European title for a year or two , sounds to me like he wants a fight with Dunne :) , I'd favour Dunne to beat him and I figuire we might get to see that before the year is out .

I doubt Irishman Dunne would be either interested in, or eligible to, fight for Hunter's British and Commonwealth straps.

Still, I know what you mean - it has all the ingredients to be a cracker.

I wonder if Brian Peters will have the financial muscle to take the fight away from Hunter's fanatical home town and land the bout in Dublin?

That would really depend on if he feels he could fill out the point(capacity 7,000) , if he feels he could he would definetly put in a winning bid for the fight . The next biggest arena with a history of holding boxing(that isn't a stadium) is the National basketball arena , only 3,500 maximum capacity and that probably wouldn't be financially viable .

As I understood it, Dunne's last couple of shows have sold out in Dublin - he is a hot ticket there as I understand it - is this the case?

RTE have been quoted as to say they have been pleased with the viewing figures and I have enjoyed the last couple of shows they have put on (I got em sent thru on dvd).

Long may the resurgence of Irish pro boxing contiinue - it was truly pitiful for the last 10-15 yrs or so.

Ya he sold out comfortably but that was in the 2,500(and they really strecthed to get that) National(boxing) stadium . RTÉ viewing figuires have been great(apparently he's gotten 1/4 of a million in viewing figuires for recent fights , and they're all on real late too) but what happens if a Hunter v Dunne fight is made ? , Sky are sure to show it and if they do they will get a good few of RTÉ's viewers .

Boxing is definetly on the up here , considering there was no boxing on tv until last year things have really picked up , and a lot of that is down to Dunne . He's RTÉ poster boy for boxing and they even showed Kingsley Ikeke v Arthur Abraham just because Bernard was fighting an 8 rounder on the card . For the good of Irish boxing , Dunne needs to beat Hunter .

I don't think the Dunne bill will be on Sky, I thought Anderson vs Mutley is on Sky?

What is the Fagan like? The guy fighting McDonagh... He is managed by Stacy Goodson and seems to be on a decent run (albeit against no names) and keeping busy... It could be interesting.

Is McDonagh now officially a Hennessey fight, I know it was discussed on here - bit of a strange choice of opponent.

No the Irish card isn't on Sky , Fagan lost fairly clearly to JJC jnr , and that was when Chavez was only 4-0-0 too so I don't think much can be expected of Fagan but both will be durable and neither can punch..........expect a decent points victory for McDonagh .
