Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
If he wins, I have been shown to be an overly critical dick who has read the worth of fighters totally wrong but Burnett seeded Number 1? Over Inoue and Tete strikes me as a bit odd.

Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
I could be wrong on this but I'm not sure it means he's seeded as number 1 - looks like alphabetical order and I seem to remember this year/last year's tournament wasn't ranked as far as seeds were concerned?
Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
Wasn’t Maurice Hooker meant to be in this?
Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
burnett did have 2 belts not long ago, and the seedings seem to really account for belts

If you are Josh Taylor, who do you pick? and who do you avoid?tobyh5 wrote: ↑20 Jul 2018, 09:31 The World Boxing Super Series has announced the seeding for two of the weight categories that will feature in the second season. Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
he doesnt have a choice if prograis is the top seed
yigit vs baranchyks already made (ibf ordered fight)
reilkh vs troyas already made (wba ordered fight)
prograis gets to pick between the remaining two unseeded (flanagan or martin)
so taylor gets whichever of flanagan or martin that progais didnt choose

Ah ok I didn't realise the mandatory situation. Flanagan fight would be most appealing from a UK perspective.jamamb wrote: ↑20 Jul 2018, 10:54 he doesnt have a choice if prograis is the top seed

Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
I see no issue with Burnett being ranked 2 ahead of Tete. Being ahead of Inoue is a bit suspect tho.
If Tete ends up getting Rodriguez in the quarter final I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the first plane home.

Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
Hopefully it's Taylor v Flanagan
Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
Last year the seeds where in order of perceived ability and world rankings.MarkMcBurney wrote: ↑20 Jul 2018, 10:02I could be wrong on this but I'm not sure it means he's seeded as number 1 - looks like alphabetical order and I seem to remember this year/last year's tournament wasn't ranked as far as seeds were concerned?
But alphabetical order?
Tete before Rodriguez in the Bantams
Super Lights are (P)rograis, (T)aylor, (R)elikl and (B)aranchyk
Not sure about which alphabet you were taught but clearly not the same one as me.
Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings

Yeah you are quite right I forgot it was 8 and was getting mixed up with the Super 6.
I think he’d lose that fight.

Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
What's the third weight division?
Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
Rumour is the Cruisers again
Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings

I didn't realise the size difference between Prograis. I'm not sure that it changes my thoughts on how the fight will go, but it does challenge them.
Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
What a line up

It sets up for Progrias/Taylor in the final. Bloody perfect!

Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
Reginald Prograis should win this.
Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
A lot would argue Taylor. I think Terry is going to give Reggie a tough time, maybe not enough to win, but surely enough to give him a good test. After that fight, it may become clearer who the favourite in the final will be
Re: World Boxing Super Series announces seedings
I wouldn't write Taylor off....
