Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
Fights get announced at press conferences 99% of the time. Sometimes promoters announce that a press conference will take place and intimate what’s being announced, which is obviously what we take the piss out of when referring to announcing an announcement.
It was clear from the post fight that it wasn’t signed at that point as the back and forth was too woolly. Words to the effect of:
‘It’s done.’
‘Where?’
‘Urghhhh we’re discussing that this week.’
Ah not done at all then. But enough for a select few to cream themselves and over react.
Maybe there will be an official press conference in the next 10 days. Who knows. All I can say is I hope if this fight falls through that the people in question get as much stick as David Haye deservedly got because it’s definitley up there with his lack of reliability.
Intimidating there would be a presser last week and now the ESPN accusations are worrying but in saying that camps tend to go quiet just before official announcements so I live in hope,

Showtime and BT won't announce it unless something is signed. If it was just FW announcing it then I would believe every word you just said.jameswilson wrote: ↑25 Aug 2018, 16:20 Fights get announced at press conferences 99% of the time. Anyone who believes that $50m offer was legit needs their head examined.BigDoofus wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 05:11One of them said he'd fight for $50m, was offered it and tweeted "Let's Roll" before waddling away.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑25 Aug 2018, 15:32 Only Fury out of the three has previous for swerving scheduled fights.

There’s a video of Finkel on tha boxing voice from 3 days ago that someone shown me last night that’s worth a watch.
Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
The right move for Fury would be to not take the fight, keep active and get another two fights in first - December and February/March, then push on for Wilder in May/June but jesus, he will look a right pussy if he does that in the short term (but that will be forgotten if he then goes on and beats Wilder next year)

Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
Joshua's promoter confirmed it was legit and the choice was down to Joshua. He chose to walk away.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 05:20Anyone who believes that $50m offer was legit needs their head examined.BigDoofus wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 05:11One of them said he'd fight for $50m, was offered it and tweeted "Let's Roll" before waddling away.lillywhite14 wrote: ↑25 Aug 2018, 15:32 Only Fury out of the three has previous for swerving scheduled fights.

Did Joshua’s promoter confirm it was legit? When/where was the proposed fight scheduled to happen?BigDoofus wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 10:37Joshua's promoter confirmed it was legit and the choice was down to Joshua. Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
I know Eddie Hearn is a clever guy and maybe not always as honest as he makes out but in all the interviews ive seen of him, he's always clear on dates about emails, meetings etc, from what I see from Wilder's side is all a bit vague, in the negotiations why was Finkle/Espinoza/Al taking too long to reply to emails etc, they knew Eddie was under pressure from the WBA, why fvck about??
Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
Because they can avoid the AJ fight whilst simultaneously making it look like AJ is ducking.handsofstone wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 12:15 I know Eddie Hearn is a clever guy and maybe not always as honest as he makes out but in all the interviews ive seen of him, he's always clear on dates about emails, meetings etc, from what I see from Wilder's side is all a bit vague, in the negotiations why was Finkle/Espinoza/Al taking too long to reply to emails etc, they knew Eddie was under pressure from the WBA, why fvck about??
They made a huge media campaign with the $50m offer. Regardless of the fact it had 0 details, it was massive news. So now they cancelled the meetings etc, refused to expand on details and AJ was pressured into the povetkin fight by the WBA.
So to the normal fan who doesn't follow things closely, they see a $50m offer turned down to fight povetkin. And now wilder is the man willing to fight anyone & AJ is the man who wants old men in his backyard (regardless of the actual records of the 2)
Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
Yes. On an IFL interview he said it was now Joshua's choice whether to fight or not.maverick23 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 12:06 Did Joshua’s promoter confirm it was legit? When/where was the proposed fight scheduled to happen?
He didn't expand on the details but given the money Vegas would be a reasonable assumption.
Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
When Povetkin was put on his undercard it was obvious what Hearn was working towards.nitro5912 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 12:41Because they can avoid the AJ fight whilst simultaneously making it look like AJ is ducking.handsofstone wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 12:15 I know Eddie Hearn is a clever guy and maybe not always as honest as he makes out but in all the interviews ive seen of him, he's always clear on dates about emails, meetings etc, from what I see from Wilder's side is all a bit vague, in the negotiations why was Finkle/Espinoza/Al taking too long to reply to emails etc, they knew Eddie was under pressure from the WBA, why fvck about??

Re: Shelley Finkle IFLTV interview.
Hearn spoke with the other promoters about the terms offered. If Joshua doesn't want to know why would they pay lawyers to draw up a contract?maverick23 wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 13:07He’s also said he’s never seen a contract.BigDoofus wrote: ↑26 Aug 2018, 12:50Yes.
