Is Miller the actual best American heavyweight out there?
Re: Is Miller the actual best American heavyweight out there?
Polish or American I'd rate him outside the top 10, and not in contention for best American heavyweight.
No argument from me if we're talking best Polish-American heavyweight. I'll accept your judgement as regards whether he would be the best current heavyweight of Polish nationality, citizenship or ancestry.
Guess I'd favour him to come through a very tough fight to outlast and stop Izu Ugonoh.

Whyte didn't risk his title against Ortiz.candyslim wrote: ↑04 Sep 2018, 15:53Sadly neither are tripping over their feet in a rush to prove their supremacy. As much as I rate Miller it was embarrassing the shite he was talking in a recent interview with 'Tha Boxing Voice' banging on about how he wants a belt which is why he only wants to fight Charr.
I would pick Wilder or Miller to prevail against Dillian Whyte after a tough fight, but there is one department in which he wipes the floor with the pair of them, and that's in the metaphorical size of their respective cojones.
Re: Is Miller the actual best American heavyweight out there?
I guess by "title" you mean his status as WBC number 1 ?
I'm sure you don't think that Whyte is scared of Ortiz *. Look at it from his point of view. He's the WBC Silver (whatever the fork that means) champion. He's their number one contender. He's paid his sanction fees and done whatever they have asked of him, over a period of a couple of years.
They decide to recognize the winner of their number three Breazeale and their (number nine, was it?) for the mandatory challenger position, despite promises made to Eddie Hearn that they would not be doing that. If they had matched Whyte with Breazeale it would have been a little unkind to Whyte who had earned a straight shot, but to not even involve him, their official number one contender FFS!?
Instead they want him to fight Ortiz who has just got stopped by Wilder just months earlier. Why TF does he get another chance straight away? I'll tell you you why - because they regard him as their best chance to derail Whyte so Haymon's boy never has to face him.
Whyte would have been perfectly content to face Ortiz if it meant the winner got an immediate shot at Wilder but no, this is for the next mandatory challenge after Breazeale. They haven't even called Breazeale's mandatory yet so Whyte isn't likely to get a shot before 2020 at the earliest, by which time Wilder may not even hold the belt. Don't forget Wilder has only faced one mandatory in his career and that was Bermane Stiverne who had absolutely no claim to be in that position as everybody knew long before the 'fight' took place.
Dillian, instead of continuing to be treated like a chump by the World Boxing Conspiracy, elects to fight a lucrative UK PPV against a younger and arguably better opponent in Parker. He had no need to take on Parker who isn't top of anybody's list of opponents they'd like to fight, now he doesn't hold the WBO belt.
Ortiz is a dangerous and skillful exponent but he is old and lacks stamina. His best chance against Whyte would be to stop him early. It would be a good fight for sure. Parker would be an even tougher fight for Ortiz because he would be less likely to stop Parker and we most definitely wouldn't outlast him.
Anybody who thinks that Whyte saw Ortiz as too scary and took Parker as an 'easy option' clearly doesn't know jack about heavyweight boxing. * I don't believe that describes you BP.
Slate Whyte's ability by all means but I don't think anyone can justifiably question the man's courage..

Oh, that would be easy, Miller would walk all over him, there's a reason Wilder ignores him as much as he can and there are probably more Americans out there who would win against Wilder.![]()
Re: Is Miller the actual best American heavyweight out there?
I got my eye on Trevor Bryan. He's looking very promising
Re: Is Miller the actual best American heavyweight out there?
Yes I thought the same ... probably about three years ago now. He'd just beaten his best opponent up until that time; Derric Rossy and guess what .... Derric Rossy remains the best opponent he has faced to date.
That's my opinion, although some might say his most recent victim BJ Flores is better. A man who campaigned at cruiserweight with modest success and was destroyed by Tony Bellew.
Apart from these guys his best wins were against Jamaal Woods and Stacey Frazier longer ago than the Rossy fight.
If Bryan is deserving of his WBA number one rating, then Bashar Al-Assad is deserving of the Nobel peace prize

BJ Flores is the most successful bum in boxing history. I dont know how he got all these title or fake title shots.
Re: Is Miller the actual best American heavyweight out there?
I don't know Dagi. There is serious competition for that particular 'title' ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

He looks much slimmer there than any fight I recall seeing him in.
It says "Klitschko's camp". That video must be years old. I think it's from 2011. Miller weighed 50 pounds less then than he does now, 250 vs. 300.

Re: Is Miller the actual best American heavyweight out there?
Miller is too easy to hit to have any sucess against wilder. He is an average puncher... wilder beats him.
Hes better than jennings on his size and volume..
the way to beat miller is to either be a huge puncher or to counter and move so he tires. Not many heavyweights outslick guys. Brezeale was mentioned earlier... miller would steamroll him

Re: Is Miller the actual best American heavyweight out there?
incidentally, there was interview with Kownacki about this issue and he replied that he is a Poleastradamus wrote: ↑06 Sep 2018, 12:08Where do you think all the relatives of all the Americans come from like less then 500 years ago?dagilechia wrote: ↑04 Sep 2018, 16:33BTW, i think that Kownacki shouldnt really be mentioned as American, of course, he got American citizenship (Polish too), lives in the States, fights out of USA (though recently he trained in Poland as well) and got American boxing licence but it is clear and obvious that he represents Poland and his main fanbase are Poles.astradamus wrote: ↑03 Sep 2018, 14:24 The more I look around in the heavyweight division, the more it seems like he could win against all the other Americans.
I don't see him losing against Breazeale, Kownacki, Jennings, or any other American in every case. Kownacki would probably be the most competative of them all.
He seems to be the only one who might actually win against DW, despite DW his win against Parker.
I can't wait for AJ to beat him as well, AJ is probably rank 1 of the world by the biggest margin since 1955 or so.
It is strange, i heard that Kownacki is listed on boxrec as American because he has American licence but so had Fonfara, Charr got German licence, he's Lebanese and listed as... Syrian.
Not to mention all Cuban boxers that obviously dont have Cuban licences but still they're listed as Cubans.
i understand your point but Kownacki is a Pole, he feels Polish and his fanbase are Poles

He can punch but hes really fat
